Close enough.

162bhp and 92lb/ft.

Well happy innit bruv?

It's making power, increasing power, all the way to the rev limiter and we did discuss raising the rev limit by a few hundred rpm to see what it carried on to but the risk of engine damage vs. the fact it's making 20bhp more than I'd hoped for and had nearly double the power of the original engine wasn't worth it.

That is a proper result.
And being mapped by Chris it’ll be a lovely thing to ride as well.

I guess that's the reason it doesn't need a front wheel 🤔😁

It will be something silly, have faith brother, the roads today will be yours :D I'm very keen to see how it performs in real world terms now it's all set up (y)

Cold starting is worse than before, much worse. Will only start and idle with the throttle cracked until it's got some heat in it.

Can't pretend to not be disappointed, given it was one of the specific things chris looked at and thought was fixed. I suspect either too much igntion advance taken out or too much fuel in the stepper motor table when cranking.

Chris did check the changes but the engine was never really truly cold other than for the very first start up, and the dyno room was never truly cold either. Whereas the temperature overnight got down to freezing here and it was only 6 degrees when I tried to start it this morning.

Let's see how Chris wants to put it right.

A positive exchange of messages with Chris.

As he rightly points out, the starting issue doesn't need the dyno to solve it and if Chris were to try and work on it full time it - given that the engine has to be stone, stone cold to be sure - it would take days.

Instead he'll lend me a dongle and I'll download a free ECU flash application that will let me put new maps into the ECU. Chris will then work on the issue remotely, amending a map then emailing it to me and I flash it in to the ECU and see how it performs.

Think that's the best way forward....

The issue with the starting problem is the noise and pissing the neighbours off. I want to be able to use the bike as an everyday ride and having to hold the throttle open and rev it is not conducive, at 6am, to staying on good terms with the neighbours...

there's your reason right there - preheat her up, job's a fish.
Already warmed through, of you go, no dawdling or blipping, do a bit of work, and back home in time for tea and medals.

Italian twinkle...
Motocicletta... its a feminine, therefore a her.
The plural... motociclette is a neutral, so i suppose you’d better hurry up and build a second one me old fruity to qualify for “it” status. 😁... dontchaknow
