I built a Tamiya Kit of this when it came out around 1982 as a toddler.... (well I was 18)
I built that kit when I was a kid also, I think I was 12 or 13, and have looked for info on it here and there over the years. My most recent search for "Kawasaki KR1000" led me to this post of your build. I think it's really cool that you're doing this and look forward to seeing your progress on it. You've provided more information on this thread alone than I've been able to find anywhere else.

The frame is back from the painters after a few months on holiday 
Very Happy with the colour I went for in the end, better than Black and the satin finish looks fab.
The lengthy final build can commence (get Christmas out of the way first though I think)
