DIY..... its cheaper

no, there isn't one on mine.. I expect its behind the same hedge that a previous chucked the steering damper.. :)

No, as far as i can make out its small plate with 2 holes in and a stud sticking out.
Its listed as P/No. 0801.37.055 (TAV25.07). but my parts list doesn't show it as part 07 is missing from the marzocchi page. its definitely Cereanni only

This picture is said to be of a pair of cerianis with the steering damper parts still bagged.
 
I think these are the wrong type of steering damper
its the new type not the through the steering head type
for a 900sd

So looking at the drawing, part no.7 is the bracket Paddy mentioned. My own steering darmahper ('78) bolted directly under the marzocchi lower fork (which might not actually be correct. I thought that the forks I spotted were the through-damper friction type but felt that maybe the lower bracket might be common.
 
Bob is right. the bracket appears to screw on to the bottom yoke, if you imagine a clenched fist and pointing finger its like that with the finger pointing down. the finger acts as a mounting stud and the rose joint on the damper fits on that with parts 8 and 9 holding it... a washer and split pin. I'm sure it would be easy to make if we had a picture.
The first Darmahs had Ceriani forks but the bottom yoke did not have the small lug cast in to it like the Marzocchi's to drill and tap for the S damper mount screw as Martins does.

bobs diagram is the only reference i have found to the bracket so far.
 
Found a reference to it in Ducati Twins Restoration by Mick Walker
page 119 in my copy 2003 re-print hydraulic steering damper
he says there is two types first with pin washer and split pin then after frame No 901174 a m8x60mm bolt and lock nut

nice picture of a light blue sd must have the later nut and bolt fixing looks like it goes through a hole bored in the bottom yoke !!
looked at other pictures of early type and from a engineering base i would have thought a "L" or triangular bracket bolted on below brake manifold using the same bolts
and a pin through it would do the job

same book page 109 B/W you can see the bolt head shining on top of bottom yoke :D

Found a parts book with a poor picture of bracket and single bolt fixing

numbers 10 +11 hold mount to yoke only one screw and washer !

7 damper mount 0801.37.055 -- validity number fm 901173 !!
8 washer 73601.0446 8.5x14x1
9 split pin A2x18
10 washer A8x3
11 screw M8x1x20

also shows a single bolt

12 screw M8x60
8 washer as above
2 nut M8

got a photo of parts but cannot get it to load on site have it on facebook fill see if it will go to SDC facebook site

I have a new one here but no hole ! in poor condition (finish) though
 
While i am taxing your brains :) anyone ever had damper rods re-chromed and ground for rear shocks ?? Just wondered if its financially viable ?
I have a set of Marzocchi AG 2.3 shocks and it seems a shame to junk them given a new pair of this quality would be £300 or so.
 
I have just taken a photo of the Darmah SSD yoke with the bolt hole, but the site won't allow a link to photobucket, presumably it has to be approved due to my low post count.

Funny thing is the guy that wanted the bracket has now found one and now its me pestering him for a picture to see what its like and i am supposed to be the parts supplier :)

thats what would've been on mine i presume... theres 2 holes in my yoke so i guess theres a locating pin or something on the back of the mount..?

Looking at the Photo yoke has a hole for the bolt type as well as thread for bracket
or cable !
