What have you done on your bike today?

Nice trip to Sammy Millers - then down to the Noisy Lobster for fish & chips then back through the lanes home. Traffic was quiet for a sunny August Sunday 😀

Not only did I go out to Loomies on my bike, i also came home, too. In addition to the Kettle, I saw a 23-plate Norton, the first modern one I've seen in the flesh. It looked OK.

As I was getting ready to ride home, an Indian gentleman approached me and started s conversation about Baby GS's - he has one too. He opted for the MIVV after-market exhaust system and asked sbout my Dominator R. The chap has ten bikes including the GS, a Monster, an F3, an F4 and who knows what else. He's taken his GS31O into the Himalayas and dropped it three, too. I said they were designed to be dropped off-road 😊

A nice ride home, with some clear patches of road so I could wind things on a bit. I'm pretty sure the 17t front has helped with vibration through the bars but my next m-way trip will confirm one way or the other. The new exhaust sounds fantastic 😊

No pics from yesterday, showed up after a bunch of gaffs to a gagglefuk of HD Cruisers, didn't bother staying for the ride as it would have been unbearable riding in a group of slow, loud bikes with obese riders.

Pics from Saturday's scouting trip:
I guess we're closer to Scotland than we thought!

Not sure why this is in an alley, the phone does not work. Time machine maybe? 🤔

Very good Falafel, Red Lintle Soup with hummus and pita. Super tasty.

A spooky campus in the middle of the Michaux Forest. According to a local this was initially a tuberculosis treatment facity, turned asylum, now it's a rehab and detention center for minors (not pictured).

A Vette convoy. That white truck wedged himself between the Vettes trying to pass. They slowed down til he moved back to the right lane then closed the gap and locked him out. Was funny to watch.

After golf this morning I thought I’d have a ride on my favourite roads - Kendal - Alston and back. The weather apps looked favourable but by the time I got ti Carnforth it started raining and looked grim going north so I dived into the Porsche Centre where I know there is some cover.

There was a couple there fucking about trying to put some electricity in their car. I was there about 15 minutes and they finally seemed to have sorted it. I don’t know how long they’d been there before I was. They both got wet…tried two different chargers and were constantly trying to do something on their phones. It’s the future.

So I turned and headed south onto my normal quick blast roads, and had a blast. Loved it. My rear tyre is officially bollocksed now.

How does it handle now?
Only did about 20 miles on narrow B roads but it handled surprisingly well, better than I ever imagined with such a restricted rear travel on bumpy roads.

Opened it out a couple of times and feck me, it seems faster than my R1 - maybe the drama that exhales from the exhaust gives it more of an impression of going ballistic but a 5 gear roll on from 60 is epic.
It wasn't happy at less than 10mph when I got stuck behind a tractor that was stuck behind 6 nob head cyclist for about half a mile!

OK so far on a b road trundle - @West Cork Paul fitted some to his V4 I think?

They’re fooking brilliant @WAYNE . They’re as grippy as a grippy thing and it matters not whether the road is dry or wet. I’m on my 2nd set now and when these run out I’ll replace with the same again.

I wouldn’t put them on your 996, they wouldn’t look right (but they’d be as good as any sports bike tyre), but I reckon they’d work and look well on your RE when the time comes.

In fact anyone who has a MultiStrada should fit them 👍

When i saw that Raptor with them on there was little chicken strips on them so i was quite impressed, i will look at them further down the line for the RE, the ones that are on the RE are square old school but handle well on the twistey stuff!! (y)

I forgot to say, I bought a non-running 2000 Monster 600 (unseen) whilst I was on holiday, it cost me all of 600€.

Well, it was running (allegedly) until it stopped a couple of years ago. No spark apparently and he couldn’t get to the bottom of it.

It will give me something to do once I’ve finished the customer bikes on my work list. Plan is to fix it up so the youngest daughter can learn & do her IBT.

Work list you say 👀 coming to the end you say.... Optimistic you are 😆😆

Went out for a ride to look at a house we're considering to purchase. I forgot my ear buds and had to go on memory and sense of direction. Ended up going down a few winding, single lane roads...getting there felt like this place was in the middle of nowhere.

Working out the details, we can't make up our minds on where we want to live, and this place is a bit on the high side of financial comfort, but it checks all the marks. Chosing this place would mean deciding to stay here and not having much cash to do anything for while.

Go with the heart bro. The head will make it work.
