I thought the orange was primer 
Finished off the steering damper mount today, it's all ready for welding in place now. Also made a couple of jig spacers, one to hold the damper & mount centrally to each other to mark the positions of the two mounting bolts & the other to hold the mount centrally on the leaf spring clamping block while I tack weld it in position. The two jig spacers are only made of delrin, but will be good enough to get the mount tacked in place without melting !! 
I had to drill two cut-outs in the face of the mount as there are two countersunk domed head screws in the back of the steering dampers, which wouldn't allow it to sit flat on the mount. I had a 10mm ball-nosed cutter, which was perfect for the job !
The only thing left to check is how much the front wheel moves up once the bike is on the road. The engine should be with me next week so I can chuck that in the frame & see what clearance I have. Hopefully I've not wasted my time !!

Collected my engine yesterday, got it un-packed today & up on my bench, (it's bloody heavy !! 
) to carry a few jobs out before it goes in the frame.
First jobs were to change the fuel pipe fitting to a 6AN type to suit the fuel pipe that I've made up & remove the standard S&S air filter as I'll be using a different, better looking filter, more in keeping with the style of the bike. I've blanked the intake off with some speed-tape for the time being to keep the dust out.
Next job will be to swop a few bits round on the oil pump.
The oil pressure switch needs re-positioning because I want to fit my oil pressure gauge where the pressure switch is currently fitted. Also the oil pipe hose tails that the engine comes with will be replaced with 6AN type fittings, one of which will be re-positioned to route the oil pipe to the oil filter, which is mounted to the bottom of the frame down-tube. That port is at the bottom of the oil pump, on the front face of the oil pump body.

As I've not been banned from any of the forums that I frequent, I do tend to flit around between forums.
For the various forums with this build thread on I tend to update them at the same time because I find that the best way to do it.

I will always reply to any member who might question me, regardless of the subject.
Everclear's post just comes across as something a complete cock would ask, why would it matter how many forums a member goes on & what content they post on those forums ?
I've answered his question & tried to explain myself, the problem with forums/texts/emails is that the people posting on them are not face to face so you do not get the facial expressions, hand gestures, etc that can make a question/statement mean very different things.
Everclear may well have been laughing when he wrote his post, but that humour did not come across to many by the look of it !
I'd like to think I've been coming on this forum long enough now to have "found my feet" & got a feel for the various posters on here. For example, I've never met Exige, but I've come to realise, or hope anyway !!, that we have developed a certain banter regarding our build threads. I feel like I have a laugh at his expense & he has a laugh at my expense.
As far as banter goes & the various forums I go on, this is the best one. That's not to say the other forums are not as good, or any better. I enjoy going on all of them for various reasons.

but I enjoy your build thread, mainly because it’s something I couldn’t do and it’s better than @Exige model kit
