Laavas new project. Cadet/Mountaineer

Picture of the forums most aesthetically correct motorcycle. The wheel with the sprockets is the back end as per classical motorcycle design. The other end, the front, has a steering arrangement in time honoured and tested fashion.
The other thing that has happened is my old school panelbeater who is chopping my guards to shape has had a crash and I am not sure how he is doing. I need to get onto that incase he is genuinely unable to continue. But I didn't want to rush around there all concerned for my mudguards if he has a broken back or somesuch y'know, that would not be cool…

Lovely, but that's a very strange front end - it will surly never catch on ;)

It probably wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding BUT, isn't that what projects/builds are about? The sourcing, the building and throwing heart and soul in returning something back to the original condition it once was or even to a point that it meets an expectation of the builder.

Not only that but build threads often show the problems, the solutions and as an information resource, are an invaluable addition to any forum

I Googled 'Cadet Mountaineer 1956' to see what they look like and this came up at the top of the page :ROFLMAO: so I still had no idea 🤷‍♂️

So I had to add Ducati to the search to find this:

Why does your engine wear a helmet?

what is the purpose of the hat over the motor, being air cooled one would think it should be open to the air for cooling. Do they claim it increases cooling?

Just looking back through this thread. You have come along way baby! But for fucks sake , get on with it.. are you originally from yorkshire by chance.?
'Kin hell! Keep yerhairon!
I have all the glory bits in the paintshop, have been rebuilding the seat and getting some cables made tomorrow…by the end of the week things will have moved on with the forums most aesthetically pleasing machine…

Other than being a spuzuki wtf is it? It's not real pretty.....

There is nothing pretty about it. DR200 farmbike, hence the two sidestands. I was going to strip it back a bit for some trail riding with my mate, but turns out you need to use an angle grinder as the front and rear carriers are factory items and support the headlight and entire rear guard…I can remove 1x sidestand and that is about it…
I wonder if the Tesi has 2 sidestands…facing in different directions?
