Glad to hear that you finally got it fixed and you've reported what the cause of the problem was. I'm not surprised that it was difficult to diagnose. Everything checked out electrically, the cylinder had compression and was getting fuel and sparks. What it wasn't getting was air, or at least not enough of it. Presumably the throttle body motor that operates the butterfly wasn't working correctly.

cheers, there was no way that i was going to change the loom. it was a case of changing all the cheaper parts first. i will never no why the mob in glasgow suggested doing that.
The DDIS will tell the technician what to try next.

NOW NOW, does free stuff first mean that the TPS connector on the throttle bodies is faulty.
