Chizel's Lockdown 749 Rebuild Thread

So.....last weekend I bought a chain but when I got it home I realized it was a moto x one so no good for me..
Have I mentioned this elsewhere? Anyhu, had to wait till Wednesday to get the correct one..
Can't fit it though as I ain't got the tool..
@Laava has one but the selfish bugger has jetted off to aussie for 10 days!!!
another bud has one but he is in auckland for the weekend...
i could use a hammer and punch i guess but being the ham fisted Guinness i am, id most likely damage something...
Also took the forks out and stripped and repainted em as the 7 dollar black paint dissolved when hit with brake parts cleaner.
Not great on the caliper mounts!!!!
So that's done and front end back in but I can't get the brakes to bleed up to any pressure.
I've pumped about 200mls through the system and the fluid runs through fine so I don't suspect a blockage.
I'm using a clear hose and could see no air bubbles after a couple of fills of the reservoir.
Its odd... just cant get any feel at the lever. I have a one way valve i usually use for bleeding but there isnt enough pressureto use it , it worked fine for the clutch and rear brake..
I'm at a bit of a loss as to what the problem could be. I can't see any leaks anywhere...
.I pumped it up as much as I could and cable tied the lever back over night ( I've read about this method somewhere but don't know if there is any merit in it) and that done zero..
Gunna go have another play with the brakes in a bit....

Is there a bleed valve at the MC as well? If they’re standard levers there isn’t but you may have changed them?

Take the lid off the fluid reservoir for OE brake (or clutch) MC. If you look around inside, you with see a small hex nut in there. Loosening off & tightening the nut while you pump the lever lets you bleed the system with ease. It's much better than bleeding from the calipers, as gravity is on your side.

Isn’t it just quicker to braze or weld the pin ends to the link ?
…feel free to follow me for more useful DIY tips, next week I’ll be explaining how to clean valves by sucking sand through the carbs ;)
Will that decoke the head too?
