What the feck have you done today?

Popped in to Steel City Motorcycles, it’s not in Sheffield any more. 🙄

They have a few Zeds in, they’re what Dave Marsden of ZedPower is up to these days.

We had torrential rain in Dorset overnight and with the land already saturated; it was inevitable that the roads would be flooded and my G'daughter would not be able to to get into work in her Ford Ka.
I needed to collect some stuff from Screwfix so I offered to take her in. It was absolute chaos. No matter which way we went we came up against floods that only trucks could get through safely. There were flooded cars parked up, other cars doing u turns, queues of waiting traffic that had no hope of getting through etc. After I had dropped her of I took another route home and it was just as bad.
My Down Hill Control light, ABS light and Traction Control light came on whilst fording the floods and are still on now I suspect a bit of debris is clogging the sensor.
All trains cancelled going north out of Cornwall and Devon who was the twat who designed the railway to be level ground on a floodplain😱🤷🏻‍♂️🥶

I was going through "Nothing to Declare" at Manchester airport this afternoon.

There was a bored-looking guard sitting on a chair, so I decided to entertain him by shouting, “Nothing except my genius!”

He said “Excuse me?”

I said, “I have nothing to declare except my genius!”

“Is there a problem here, sir?” he said.

I told him “You know… Oscar Wilde? Do you not know Oscar Wilde? Oh come on, man!!”

Anyway, I was detained for three hours but I’m on my way home now.

Yesterday we finally drove up north to go ice fishing. The maiden voyage. Took forever to get setup. It was 6°F and dropping, expected to get down to -10°F overnight. We finally got to bed around 2:30a.m. after settling in which included plugging in the propane tank heaters to make sure they kept working. We also hooked up an extended run gas tank to the generator.
Today we parallel connected both generators. Tried the Keurig machine for coffee. I also got Starlink running this afternoon. Meanwhile Paul worked on the fishing gear set up.
It's been a tiring but fun weekend so far.
Water depth is 23 feet where we are parked. The ice is 26 inches thick. It's a little creepy listening to the noises the ice makes almost all the time.
Especially loud cracking and booming sounds during the night!
Pictures-
Ice hole openings in our ice house where ice holes are drilled through the ice. We have 7 openings. Paul drilled out 5 to use.

Generator Setup-containers help keep them from freezing up in the extreme cold. Not sure we needed them though since we had installed cold weather kits. Paul's nephew had problems with his. He did not use containers or kits.

Jeez…you know, we can buy fish from supermarkets over here - all different sorts, as much as you want.

😁

Just got back from peach guitars as I needed some new strings for the D16 couldn’t stay too long as dog doesn’t like being on his own and he was sat in the drivers seat with the window partially down and the car alarm going off 😂
He’s nuts so took him to the seaside on way back and he had a swim.
Gonna have a couple of hours on the guitar this afternoon after restringing and finish learning a few songs I’ve got in my head.
I’ve reached a junction in life where im not sure I want to continue with the career I chose as it’s seems the industry im in is full of wankers who have become amoeba like and I’m not sure that’s me as I have a fire burning in my belly and I don’t want that to go out. Or the fire could
Just be my Crohn’s disease 😂

Trust your gut feeling (the instinct not your Crohns disease...). Most decisions can be reversed it they don't work out but nagging regret over what might have been never goes away. Fortune favours the brave.
