What have you done on your bike today?

Took the opportunity to take a 2 hour spin through the hills of monaghan and into Armagh in northern Ireland for some brexit tax dodging.. I have an oohpod account which holds a parcel for you north of the border so it incurred no tax ,the 2 small packages in my back box would have import charges of 244 euro in taxes and duty plus on English company wouldn't deliver to the south as its a bloody faff .. ah it warms the heart to give the fuckers in government as little as humanly possible 😆View attachment 168262View attachment 168263

For us to send to Northern Ireland is the same as to the south - needs the same paperwork. Once it’s cleared in NI it’s classed as free circulation to the EU

On an ongoing business basis im sure their are better systems in place .. I can't blame anyone in the mainland UK not wanting to ship here it's very messy...its stupid eu bollocks

Well I went out on the Speedie after fitting the eliminator yesterday…bloody hell!

No error messages.

The throttle response is amazing - I had to recalibrate my thinking when nailing it. And it does sound a bit bassier - not much, not as much change as the throttle, but noticeable.

If I’d known it was going to make such a difference I wouldn’t have waited 7500 miles - but then I wouldn’t appreciate it so much.

Despite the response being better, it feels smoother through the rev range. It must have stifled the performance so much…what a waste of time and money those valves are.

I thought I was just fixing my bike, but not just that, it’s a big improvement. I’m a happy Dox 😁

You will be doing a flat bar conversion next; makes the handling razor sharp 👌

Had a good ride out yesterday and stopped at a trailer in a pub car park in Codicote for breakfast Home | Cafe 77 | Breakfast, Brunch & Burgers in Hitchin & Codicote | Hertfordshire
By coincidence there was around 15 or so bikers there, mostly in front of us in the queue . The service was very slow but in the end worth waiting as the food was really very good. There was an interesting mix of bikes and bikers there including a Conor Macgregor lookalike in full leathers who pulled the top of his leathers down to reveal no inner tea shirt but instead a very well sculpted , muscular and tattooed torso. I kept my top on of course as befits a gentleman of my age and I didn`t want to make the young chap feel inadequate.
More interestingly and in a slightly surreal way there was a very attractive and well proportioned young lady biker there, also in full leathers. As my friend and I parked our bikes she approached us to request we help her pull the top of her leathers down as her arms were stuck. My friend was closer and got in before me , bastard. She was wasn`t topless underneath but I will of course be going there every Sunday for the rest of my life now in case the dear girl is there and needs assistance again. I`ll see some of you there too I guess.

Today i went down to the garage to work out what is going on with the HD, when i was out yesterday my engine management light came on. After some vids on youtube you can diagnose the problem on the bike, so did that and got a code, i then goggled it and it turns out to be the 02 sensor on the rear cyclinder is faulty. So i took the sensor off and gave it a clean and put it back in, i did the front one aswell, i then cleared the code and went out for a ride. It was fine for most of the ride but as i got closer to home it came on again, FUCK!! Not to worried about it but will get some, forty quid for a pair so not bad.🤷‍♂️

Had a thoroughly enjoyable hour out after work.

There was a Volvo 850 infront of me as we came through a village, making quite a loud V8 rumble, and he floored it when we came out of the village…it could bloody shift! Looked great condition and standard except the wheels and tyres.

On Friday & Saturday, myself (on Helga II) and 3 mates went to Jedburgh, via The Lakes. 2 nights of camping and on the 2nd day, rode through SW Scotland.

Sod's Law that we saw a little rain, after a month of almost none, but it was an enjjoyable 2 days with good company on great roads.
