What have you done on your bike today?

It wasn’t over hot, and it started straight away every time (after leaving it a few minutes)
I’m inclined to think it’s a transmission issue ( that was one of the errors, but so was battery; ABS; TC; coolant; engine, etc. but because of the clunking.
I’ll get the diagnostic on it tomorrow, but does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

The only time mine did something like that was when battery terminal came loose.
 
Soon after I bought it the battery terminals came loose on my old 990 KTM while I was riding it. Dash lights came on and the rev counter needle began swinging wildly to and fro against the stops like a windscreen wiper. But it didn't conk out. I would expect the engine to keep running with loose terminals - but the 990 was an older generation bike and completely analogue, so who knows.
My Triumph Rocket 3 died for no reason a couple of times and lights came on. I coasted to a stop, killed the ignition and restarted it and it fired up immediately. It turned out to be some gearbox or clutch sensor. Not uncommon according to the owner's forum and the dealer sorted it at the next service.
Hopefully Dox's is something similar.

@Dox is it still under warranty?

The manufacturer warranty is finished, but the dealership warranty rolls on providing I service it there, which I do.
What happened with your Rocket sounds very similar.

Modern Trumpets are not know to randomly self-destruct. They're pretty solid. Hopefully yours will just be some infuriating electronic gremlin. Fingers crossed.

I don't know what yours is like but I have to say my local Triumph dealer at Newcastle was one of the best main dealers I've ever dealt with. Triumph do seem to be one of the better brands in this respect.

I use Youles at Blackburn and they’ve been good up to now 👍

The battery terminals seem connected - I can’t fully check without removing the tank and I’ve not got time today.
Switching the ignition on it now just shows transmission error (I didn’t start it though) and there seems a common problem with heat effecting wiring to or from the quick shifter. Yesterday it got very hot while it was stood for an hour.
More investigating tomorrow - thanks for your input 👍

Fitted STM clutch to the SXV - bit of a tetris thing going on for an hour or so while i worked it out...but went in, in the end....got no adjustment left on the clutch lever or the inline adjuster but its working...

Yesterday my swollen left foot had gone down enough to get my boot on!:rolleyes: So i went for a blast and it's so good to be out again.The handle bars are bent and i tried to get them back in shape with no joy so i will get a new set. The forks are out of alignment so sorted that earlier, i had to take the fork brace off then a couple of well placed right foot hits and done.:)
Hoping to go out later when thing's have cooled down a bit.

Does yours have a quick shift? It's not unknown if the visible parts at the linkeages/connectors to get shit on them for it to cause brain farts

Yes. I turned my Diavel's QS off in settings as it didn't work properly. Whether that kills power to the unit itself I don't know but definitely worth a try. If not, but it's a physical wiring fault in the QS itself as @Noobie suggests, maybe having deactivated it in the menu try disconnecting the wires.
