I would have no problem living like that.
I can relate to the different dialects as Gozo is 4.5 miles from Malta and the dialects are very different!!
Yes it's fascinating the way that they evolve.
Why dig that up again?
I went on a swimming holiday based in Malta about 16-17 years ago and one day we swum from Malta to Gozo. Its about 3 miles and the furthest I have ever swum in 1 go. Stayed a while in Gozo before getting the ferry back . It is , or certainly was then, very much nicer than Malta.
This is the tour operator and if you like open water swimming I highly recommend them, great people and the other holiday makers were all upbeat positive, interesting people :-

My dad was from Gozo, i'm 49% Gozitan according to Ancestry. I spent a lot of my childhood there in the 6 week school holiday, we would go for 4 weeks, great times!!
Yep I could do that (but it would take ages).
Not for me, never been one for hieghts, back in the day i did window cleaning up and down ladders and in cherry pickers, that's my limit. That is other level crazy, no fucking way!!
