I have been to Road Atlanta and Mid Ohio race track for 3 day track riding events and each trip cost me over $1000 US. We slep in tents then but the prices you quoted would be reasonable, and much cheaper than a flight and stay at any Moto GP event which is also on my list of must do events. We looked into doing the Texas GP event in 2020 with the cost of hotel, flight, car rental and tickets to event adding up to $1500 per person. Unfortunately, covid killed that trip but I do intend to make it there soon.

I know you are joking but you’re not a million miles off how I feel about road racing.
The rider that I sponsored at Thundersport went on to race on the roads and that’s when I bowed out.
He was in his early 20’s and I was good friends with him and his dad and I would never have forgiven myself if something had happened to him while I was facilitating his riding.
He still races on the roads and was abroad this weekend racing somewhere and I saw he had crashed and smashed the bike up but he’s ok.
I went to the TT quite a few times but it’s not for me and I enjoy circuit racing much more.
I watch it on the tv and have massive respect for the competitors but the risks are huge.

Last year whilst we were waiting for the Superbike Race to start we got talking to a lad and his wife, he races at Darley Moor. Funnily enough we were at Cronk-y-Voddy near where the lad in the video above is.
I asked him if he ever fancied doing the roads and his wife said tell him about the Southern 100 crash from a couple of years back.
He witnessed a crash a couple of years ago and he told us what he saw, which I won’t go into detail out of respect.
It put him off ever trying the roads but he said after the incident there was a meeting with the riders and organisers about abandoning the event. Nearly every rider wanted to carry on, the event was cancelled though.
Road Racers are a strange breed.
I love walking around the paddock seeing the privateers working on their bikes, having a chat with them etc.
To me that is what the TT is all about, they have no chance of winning, it’s costing them a fortune but they are here every year trying to best their fastest lap.
It’s like going back in time, that is why I love the Island.
I’ve been saying it for 20 years but one day I will buy a little Manx cottage, everyone on the forum will be welcome to visit for the TT.
I should imagine there will be lots of work to do on the cottage so you can get on with that whilst we watch the race….

We'll just send Chizel over for 10 years before we visit then it might be finished 👀 in fact tell him which one you want and he can make a start now :unsure:

It’s been for sale for a while, sadly my funds are not in place till 2027. No neighbours, perfect. 10 minutes to the Gooseneck, pub up the road and looking out to the sea.
Possibly get them down to £425K for cash.
I might have to speak to my friend @AirCon

I suppose that now you know what you are doing, and where to source the frame and other bits, and you're not in full-time employment, it would all go a lot quicker than it did with the KR.
That was an epic journey for sure and I enjoyed many years of following your updares on the project.

Yes, 18 months for the first so I guess it would take about a month for each extra one :)(y)

Just crossing past the M6 junction where people get off to go Heysham for the ferry - saw a metallic brown VW Transporter with a 2 bike trailer with a tricolour Pani and a black SF - have a good time boys!
