The Midgie Masher Flypast Run (22-24 August)

If anyone who is coming to the Masher happens to have a spare fixing screw for the visor base plate on a SHOEI helmet could you please bring it.:)

It is an Interceptor, about 6 years old and takes a CX-1 visor. I sent for new base plates and explained that it was the screw I needed. Guess what. Base plates arrived but no screws.

So please, please, please if you have one could you bring it. I'll make you a nice cup of tea if you do.:D

We'll be leaving mine around 11-12ish Bev. I stay about a minute of the bypass. We're going to go via a few places in Fife and hook up with Gary at Windygates, then Ian at Crieff.

Thanks for the offer Davie, was going to ask you to pm me your mobile but pc was playing up earlier :comp2: & guess you & Steve are out on the toon now

A mystery tour round Fife might have been interesting, especially as I don't think for a minute it would be anything to do with being lost ! :D

See you all there - safe journey everyone

Just finishing off the packing here.

We expect to be off in the next 1.5 hours - anyone else needing stuff carried up, then you better chop chop and get your arse over here.

Other than that - PLEASE travel safe guys

And if you pass a red box trailer on the back of a red transit, gimme a wave!

Have a fantastic weekend

Have a brilliant time...................really sorry I am not coming............ride safe all and mind those midges!

x

i'm at torridon atm - abt 110 miles north of fort william. the weather has been dire. it rained all the way up on thursday - 400 miles in 7 hrs. word of warning - the road surface on the a84 from callander to crianlarich has deteriorated dangerously. i lost the front twice in the wet at very modest speeds and angles of lean. foot down each time to save things. not nice.

it absolutely lashed down all day yesterday from the early hours until about 8pm.

it's not raining atm but it's not looking too good either. good luck - hope u have a better ride up than i.

...and watch out for the poorly signposted roadworks on the road across rannoch moor. they dont mention temp' road surface until you're on it - not fun in the rain at night!

Sorry folks, but I'll not be there for the Saturday run. Having discovered it's a holiday weekend, we're heading north to Lossiemouth for a weekend of de-stress.... have a great time you lot, drink LOTS, and please all ride carefully. Looks like the weather might favour the Mashers. I'll be heading north today (1098) around 3.30-4pm - so maybe pass a few of you, back down Monday, I'll look out for Davie Ravie :D :D

I'll be leaving in a couple of hours to link up with Davieravie et all at Crieff and it's still raining here
Hopefully it's going to go off soon

oh cock, just thought id put some exhaust assembly past on the blowing bit of exhaust , but on disassembly , the coller-ery thing on the front pot has turned to dust

I might be late :|

Dont think I'll get to Glencoe for the start,so I think I'll try to get to Oban and meet up there.
Remember that Strathclyde tax office are on a mission to target bikes this weekend.

Eck and I've just spoken to my chum who lives up there in the middle and says its done nothing but "phish it down" and there are lots of road works in your area.

Please be careful everyone

Suns been shining, warm outside still, beers evaporating at an alarming rate.

Hope it's the same tomorrow!

I hope you all have a good incident free day Scott, plenty of those midgies mashed and the sun shines down on you all:)

Yes Have fun guys and Gals

Kill the midges and have a great weekend

ps Think about all us trogglidites that cant attend for one reason or another

I am at a wedding trying to tell them to say NO I Wont Do It!!!

They just wont listen

Hard luck to them

Counted them all out, counted them all back in

We've been blessed with fantastic weather!
We've had the best roads in the world to ourself (almost)!
We've had the best company too.

Everyone is knackered after a long day in the saddle, but they're still grinning. It's been the best masher to date, with 30 bikes meeting at Glencoe this morning and loads of new faces.

Masher 2009 committee will have a tough job :D

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Not jealous at all

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Mark me down for next year.
Sitting offshore sick as a parrot. I need to change my rota.
Getting more & more depressed as the "WE ARE HAVING A GREAT TIME" threads come in. Bah!! Humbug!!!!!!!!!!!!

I should be up for going next year as well. I like the idea of doing it over the bank holiday as that gives an extra day up there riding. :)

Got back last night as I left after the run on Saturday. Had a great time! Some ****ing excellent roads and good company - good to put forumnames to faces. We struck it lucky with the weather, no rain for the 36 hours I was away, which must be the longest dry period for weeks!

A big THANK YOU to the committee and everyone involved in organising things!

I've uploaded a few photies to the gallery.
