Recall

I don't know if every recall notice gets sent out at the same time, I'd have thought that on popular models doing so would swamp dealers workshops and the parts system. I can recall that when Triumph did the frame swap on 595's i think they used a staggered system to spread the workload.

there are 2 systems of recall, if it comes from a customer complaint VOSA force the maker into a recall, if the maker tells VOSA first, guarantees to carry out the work in an approved manner ie checks new bikes in stock, contacts customers themselves they can avoid it appearing on the VOSA list. I'd prefer to see manufacturers forced to publish all the "Technical Updates" they do for dealers for all known faults, big or small on their own websites with exact VIN's of those bikes affectected.

I've never had notification before. I have owned the bike for nearly 3 years. It was registered on an 04 plate....

Suffice to say I am not happy.:mad: :mad: :mad:

Concern : OIL MAY LEAK FROM OIL COOLER DELIVERY AND RETURN HOSES
Description : Oil may leak from the oil cooler delivery and return hoses, which could result in contamination of the rear tyre.
Remedial Action : Recalled machines will have the subject delivery and return hoses replaced.

So, has the problem actually occured? If not, then by now you can probably reckon it won't, so the bike's a good 'un. Yes/No?

Also no-one is considering our dear old Post Office here. Are you aware of how many letters and parcels go "astray" every year? Neither am I but I reckon it's more than 27. :D

It's getting a bit beyond a joke on this forum now, yes I have a go now and again... but as Gizmo said earlier - cabin fever seems to have gripped the nation.

It's not much fun anymore, I came on here to get away from the @rseholes and hassles of work, but it's now broadly similar.

Stuart, if you leave us here I'm gonna resign my membership (again :p ).

I made a stupid (as usual) post on this thread in order to raise a titter maybe and lighten it up a little - to no avail I see. I'm not gonna post in it again - can't be arsed, got better things to do with my life, than listen to others whinging.

...god, I wish I had a bike young enough to still have a recall thingy on them!!! :rolleyes:
