Joule is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Cell Press. It was established in 2017 as a sister journal to Cell. Philip Earis is it's editor in chief and before being appointed in 2017, spent 3 years in india leading a project to supply electric through solar panels to remote indian villages.

Cell press was bought by Elsevier in 2017. Elsvier seems to be a publisher of various scientific magazines and journals. They have a history of publishing what they call shadow libraries or pre prints. Shadow libraries tend to be sources of readily available content that is normally obscured or otherwise not readily accessible. Such content may be inaccessible for a number of reasons. Paywal or other barriers to accessibility placed upon the content by its original owners

Preprints tend to be the papers themselves put forward in journals that push they are pier reviewed but preprints are not, they are simply the author/s interpretations. This gives the false impression that they have been pier reviewed for legitimacy

And be aware, that 'research' often comes from 'fact checkers' who's job it is to discredit anyone that goes against the official narrative. And more often than not, use false premises to do so.

We are probably all guilty of not believing something because of the source.
I think Robin Williams was right about people that are in ‘power’, they should wear badges showing who their sponsors / donors are.

Can you give a single example of me saying I've been happy with what the government do and say, given that is the standard retort of those who offer up articles when found to be lacking in honesty or research?

Following on from last Months Bill, my latest bill just came and it is nearly 7 times more than last months at £22.83 for Gas & Electric :mad:

Not looking forward to next months as my Smart Meter is telling me I'm using between £5 and £6 a day on Gas alone now the temperatures have dropped outside :oops:

And following on from my post in Alan's moany thread - if the Gas prices are now less than last October, why hasn't the price cap been reduced :unsure:

I signed up to our suppliers energy saving scheme, and about a week ago had an hour when we had to minimise electricity usage, which we did.

Spent the time wisely reading about the two chaps who set up Bulb, and how much they trousered just before the company failed, and how much one of them made still being paid as a director whilst the company was in govt admin.

Just been made aware of the cash rewards as a result of the first energy saving trial - will need to sit down with my financial advisor to determine the best place for the £0.13 windfall.....

Estimated cost of Bulb’s £6.5bn failure, per household around £200.

As they say on Rad-Mac - "What a world we live in today....".

I was invited to join the Octopus Energy scheme but didn’t bother as I thought it would be a load of nonsense, turns out it obviously is.
 
My in-credit tally with my gas supplier has been spiralling upwards for several months so I thought I'd review my Direct Debit with them.

Surprise MFer! You can adjust your Direct Debit up, but not down. So I cancelled my DD.

I'll consider another DD after my credit reduces to zero ... or more likely, I won't.
