My Energy supplier has gone bust.

I wonder how long the migration will take?
Supplier of Last Restort from Failed Company.
Let's assume 6-8 weeks.
During that time we cannot change suppliers and have had no time to compare rates, as these aren't disclosed.
I can't find anything to say what rate we will be charged and for our home that increase will be between a ton and a monkey per quarter.

The funnier thing is that they made sure it went to south of the wall rather than the closer north of the wall.

I believe, from what I’ve read, that you go onto the new providers standard variable rate, which with the way gas & electric prices have risen will be, for most, significantly higher than before, although will not exceed the Price Cap*

*However the companies being forced to mop up the customers from failed providers are negotiating with OFGEM and the Govt to have the Price Cap significantly increased.

Yes, that is my understanding.
However in the two months in between... what rate am I paying?
That isn't clear in anything I've read to date.
I may have missed something.

I guess, when you eventually get billed it will be at the new rate from the day OFGEM landed you on their doorstep.

This whole thing is a travesty. Clearly the ‘providers’, aka middlemen, didn’t hedge their contracts. It would appear they purchased on the spot market yet sold long term contracts

But I cannot change now.... seems a bit fixed to me.

Symbio have just sent me a final bill and it appears they have ignored the photos and email I sent regarding the bad data in the meter reads.
So I've managed to secure myself a couple of thousand units at the old cheap rate.:LOL::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Cheats never prosper...
As soon as the error happened I sent an email and tried to call.
They have the correct photographs and there is no way to correct the error on line.
No cheat nor foul.
I've even responded to the latest bill to explain again the readings are wrong.

:giggle:

As mentioned elsewhere Centrica have risen 14% this month alone...
That's their stocks, not the electric and gas prices...... that's gone up a lot more. :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL::unsure::whistle::giggle:

The nice people from shell have contacted me and tell me they will soon be putting me on their best tariff …
