So Stoner felt he didn't get as much help from the marshalls as Rossi.

Apparently those Hondas aren't very easy to bump start (check out how quickly the Ducati gets going vs the distance the Honda moves but still fails to start). Whether this is due to the new fangled gearbox or not remains to be seen...

The blame, however, may not lay entirely with the marshals. Honda's trick gearbox and clutch mean that two pins are required to start the bike on the stand, and bumpstarting the machine is extremely difficult, if not quite impossible. The urge to save engine damage by switching the motor off, and then trying to coax the bike back into life - a dangerous proposition on a live racetrack - may have played a significant role in the inability of the marshals to restart both Stoner's and Simoncelli's machines.

I think that makes it perfectly clear that both riders received equal help and, had the honda restarted, Stoner would have been under way at the same time, if not in front of, Rossi.

Exactly what I thought - if the marshals had pushed him any further they would have been down as Honda riders on the race programme.

Rossi was to blame for the accident, but any talk of preferential treatment for him over Stoner seems a bit OTT.

at least rossi was racing against someone in the wet when the front tucked, how many times have we seen the same thing happen to stoner over the last few years when he was all by himself on track in the dry?
bet stoner thought when he left ducati he would have got away from a ducati front slide takin him out!! lol

dont disagree with everything positive about him, he is one of the fastest riders out there, he just always has a excuse why he gets beat. so it aint his fault, just found his last statment to rossi as a huge slice of bull as for the past 3 yrs the same thing has happened to him on the duke many times but it was always the bikes fault not his. at least rossi had the balls to admit it was his own fault
had a good look and the only thing missing is a nice 1098r thanks very much

We all have likes and dislikes.
To avoid going down the football team/player route........

Some people like Britney Spears, but some don't.
Some people like Jusitn Beeber or whatever his name is, some don't.
Some people like Gok Wan and Alan Carr, but some people find them annoying.
Some people like VR, and some don't.
Some people like Casey Stoner. Me, I don't dislike him, he just irks me.
I don't necessarily disagree with anything positive said about him. Have never doubted the guy is talented and deserves every race win he gets.

But it doesnt mean there is a conspiracy against him or any "Casey-haters" are bad people.

Saying that IMHO the guy is actually a pretty good guy compared to Max Biaggi.

i used to like max biaggi, one for pulling off that save when he almost wheelied off the back of the bike and i used to love the way you couldnt tell he had crashed till you saw his hand come off the handlebars, but he wasnt ever in rossi's league.
