I've always thought Stoner was a bit naive/shy in the past. Now I'm convinced he is a total ring piece. It's not as if it was heat of the moment stuff either.
 
someone give stoner a dairy maid ice lolly so we dont need to listen to the whiney little @@@@ for a couple of months. he is the biggest bottle merchant in bloody gp's
 
Great race, but did the Dr really need to try an overtake at that point, it looked to me like he had the measure of Casey Moaner. Still what do I know:)
 
i think if you rossi mad guys stopped for a second you would realise what stoner said was very tongue in cheek. it was all very friendly and a case of stoners slightly hamfisted attempt at humour. If you noticed the first thing he asked (a couple of times) was if valentinos shoulder was ok even while rossi was trying to say sorry.
I would still rather see stoner on a ducati rather than hayden, the weather played into his hands, the truth of the ducatis standing regardless of rossi and hayden was 4 of them fighting over 9th place. lets hope valentino can turn the bike around, because apart from stoner, nobody else has one a moto gp championship on a Ducati

Very good point and I completely agree when take on face value.
However, it wasnt his ambition/ability comment that i took as his attempt at humour.

I too noticed he asked Rossi about his shoulder a couple of times, even patting it- but if you look at his body language when he asks this it doesnt seem to be a genuine question, more like a directed statement- as if he is asking Rossi if it was his weak shoulder that caused the accident.

You have to wonder how much Casey knew Rossi would come straight to the garage to apologise with media in tow, and so played along in front of the cameras.
I know if it were me in Rossi's position the first thing I would have wanted to have done was apologise, but he must have also known this would be a great bit of PR and spin-doctoring for him!!! No wonder Casey is still a bit miffed...

I thought the same.

But then I also speculated that even if this incident never happened, Rossi might have gone on to then crash later, and so might have Stoner.

But would Rossi/Stoner have been able to get back on the bike?

would it have left us with the same race results but without all the drama!!!!

Hence why MotoGP beats F1 in terms of entertainment in my opinion....

I haven't seem the race but, having watched the clip, it was an obvious choice to free the trapped rider first.

As for Stoner's 'ambition' quip I honestly believe it was an attempt at humour, perhaps misplaced, but not malicious.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next race. Thanks for putting up the clip.:thumbs:
 
I thought Stoner would be a lot more @@@@ed off than he seemed. After all he really spat the dummy when Rossi put the hard stuff on him at Laguna and he didn't fall off then.
Maybe he's being coached but my reading of the conversation was one man apologising for what he knew was a desperate lunge on an inferior bike flattered by the conditions (Rossi) and one who was relaxed enough to make an ill judged attempt at humour because he knows he's got the best bike and most effective combination out there (Stoner).
I felt really sorry for Simoncelli.
 
i thought at the time that the marshals initial thing to get rossi out from under the bike was right as well as stoner was trying to get his bike upright. when the bike was upright, they should have split to help both riders remount from that point, But and its a big but here, Marshalls are human (racers may disagree) and its human nature to want to be able to say to people in the future "oh i helped vale up when he came of" etc. If Honda were to make a fuss over this, it would say more about the way honda run motorcycle sports than anything it will ever say about rossi or stoner.

as for simoncelli. i do feel sorry for him, but he will more than likely be the next rossi, so he will come good
 
race winner and reigning world champion Lorenzo must wonder what he has to do to get noticed, jumping in lakes and winning titles aint working :)
