Hizzy Museum Meet - Sunday 20 May

For those commin over the 4th Rd bridge, how about we meet up at same point as last year, the burger van at Straighton for the Edinburgher types, and any that want to come across from Broxburn, Livi etc.

Times need to be sorted tho. 10ish, maybe stopping at Glentress on the way down for a coffee and cake?

Cooling Tower Demolition Sunday Morninng

Only 2 weeks until the Hizzy Museum meet so I thought I'd confirm details. We'll be meeting at the Museum in Hawick main street at noon ( ish). Make your own way there or arrange to ride to it with others in this thread. Grab a brew/lunch and maybe check out the museum, cafes aren't easy to find in Hawick and we get as many as last year be prepare for a wait.

Hawick is on the A7 and almost every road leading to it is perfect for bikes. Last year we headed up the A6, then A7 and came back via Kielder ( getting very wet doing so :D)

You can check out last years photos here and read Gordon's account of his day out here

add your name to the calendar here

Hope to see you there

Mike may be a good idea to stop for a brew somewhere close to Chapelcross Power Station on the Sunday morning on your way if you can work a route round that. They blow the cooling towers up that morning at 9 (the ones you can see from everywhere including Hartside).

So don’t panic if they suddenly disappear off the horizon.

Finally when I was at St Marys today they were chipping the road between Moffat and the Loch if you head that way (working at the waterfall when I passed).

Ok, 10am at Straighton then, meet up with the guys coming south and anyone else that fancies heading down to Glentress on the way to Hawick. Pack the waterproofs......:( :( :( :rain: :rain:

Blue skies in the Borders - point those bikes at Hawick

8.00 and it's a glorious, sunny morning here in the Borders. The Met Orifice says it should be sunny spells in Hawick today.

@@@@, feel crap and slept in, not even made the kids breakfast yet !!

If I do get to came up and miss you lot at the Hexham station at 10.30, what is the best way to get to Hawick from the station without going half way around the world, I usually go the otterburn way.

Brilliant day! Thanks DB borderduc for setting this up

As usual met another load of new faces, sorry if I didn't manage to say hello to everyone! My friend Elaine said she had a fantastic time and can she join us on a rideout again please?!

Pleased to meet Bev on her 748 and her mates from Crook, the guy from Kilmarnock (sorry, name's gone...) and the other guy on the white S4RS(?). Get yourselves on the site you owe us all a virtual drink!

Aha - Bev = pinky boots

Again, to many faces & not enough time (bottle) to say hello
it aint easy wandering up to strangers & saying "Hi - Im dancingdog"
perhaps I should change my name to Eric

Thanks to all for good run & good craic

& a big thanks to badger bait for making my day !!!!!

Well that was an own goal for the weatherman today - so much for rain showers. Just perfect for biking all over the Borders. As usual, great to meet up with DUN regulars, put names to faces and to renew acquaintances, etc

Apologies for not turning up on a Duc but my "Austrian Multistrudel" - I promise I'll try not to do it again...

A great route by KDB from Hawick to Kelso. Unfortunately the navigation went a bit pear-shaped after the ice cream stop there, and we didn't quite manage "Duncan's Diversion" ie home the long way round while the sun still shines. Never mind, got home to watch the MotoGP earlier.

Roll next month's run (or WDW for some lucky *******s) !

Yes you just wouldn't want to go on a run without him:D bless his little cotton socks:eek:[/QUOTE]

I was pi$$ing myself watching him being pushed - trying to disarm his imobiliser & steer at the same time. Key fob flapping in the wind

velly reriable
