UUUH OHHHH! My rod and big end arrived this morning:cool:

I think it looks light enough but concerned about the machine marks across the width of the rod would be less inclined to worry if they were length wise that is why I am thinking of getting the rod peened which can also strengthen the rod by 30%.

They look like standard bars...............off a road king !
Might look better if you use a cross bar as well

They are used as placement mats, recycle man! Cost a freekin fortune from the shops as the aforementioned , when I bought them they were 0.50p holed had a few left over when I built the house. I got onto the kids this morning about scratching the table with their cars so they made a road with them thats why they are all together.
 
Rescuing a couple of levers.

Picked up a couple of levers on Fleabay turns out they came from Mr Muir.

Tinware back from the coaters last night so started putting the rear light back together this afternoon, with the coating I lost the reflective surface inside the light

So had an idea to glue tin foil inside

it worked ok but on hindsight may have been better to shape before I applied the glue thought I may have been able to smooth it out but it never worked. Hopefully look ok when given a gentle polish with solvo.

Also managed to fit the front mudguard but not decided on how far to trim it back as yet!

Amazed at how versatile using beads in the blast cabinet are, turned the pressure down low with just a trickle of beads hey presto good as new.

A good blast with the airline and then a spray with cellulose thinners new gaskets, what more could a carb ask for?

There is always one in the crowd!! :lol2: I had been looking at the Amal site they were showing a stay up float package (new design) with complete rebuild kit including jets of your choice but a friend arrived today with a BMW GS frame that he is converting into a Paris Dakar thingy for his winter project. He came with a box of bits as I was needing a 600 series carb top and there was a gasket set in the box so that is all it is getting at the moment.
Going to have to shelve this project after this week as I have a micro brewery to build and another possibly two straight after that.:ohwell:
 
Sam - would be interested to know what jets/slide are in your 627. That's the carb my Spanish 250 should have (I could only get a 930, near enough!). I got the specs for it from a Spanish parts manual but would be good to have them confirmed or otherwise from one off another bike!
