Wants to stop having sugar…changes to honey instead = pointless

Dr Doxon says:

"Honey's advantages over sugar include a slightly lower glycemic index (i.e. it doesn't affect your blood-sugar levels as much)," Dr. Dixon says: "It also contains more vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, such as calcium, potassium, vitamin C, zinc, phenolic acids, and flavonoids."

So honey has good stuff in it - plus sugar.

Seems legit.

^^^ to no degree which is beneficial to humans.

@Dox, is the main aim of your diet to avoid having any sugar at all ?

Bingo! Our body produces all the sugar it needs through gluconeogenisus. We don’t need any carbohydrates in our diet at all.

Fat provides energy; utilising fat for energy creates ketones; our brains run better on ketones than they do on glucose, hence why people switch to zero carbs they clear brain fog…even if they didn’t know they’d had it.

Energy release is more constant rather than the peaks and troughs you get from carbs.

Over a year in and the only effects I’ve had have been very positive.

Have you gone from eating allsorts, to just animal based?

It can be a shock to the system - like a junkie going cold turkey...that is exactly what you will be experiencing if gone from one to the other.

I'd been keto for a couple of months, just eating meat, eggs and veg - the veg kept me craving carbs. Once I switched to carni it was 30 days before all the cravings went away, and it was like flicking a switch - one day I just didn't want anything with carbs in.

When people go from eating everything to just carni, they can become 'fat adapted' sooner than my 30 days, but they can experience 'keto flu' - the cold turkey bit.

It's worth pushing through.

Yes, went from eating allsorts to meat and dairy only.

Given that I have been a real sugar junkie all of my life, I was kinda expecting this, but not quite as bad.

I will keep pushing on and see what happens, for another while at least and then re-evaluate.
