What have you done on your bike today?

Sorry to interrupt this bike thread :ROFLMAO:

This morning I took the V2S courtesy bike back to Alton. (I had added 400 mile to the clock!, which surprised me)
It (the Multi 1260s) was in for its third Desmo service. It also needed the coolant changing. When they went to replace the drain plug on the water pump housing, They discovered that the plug hole was cross threaded, something I had discovered previously compliments of one of the main dealers I had been to before, Anyhow the solution was to replace the water pump housing, which they did at cost. Once again a very professional service. If you want to use them you will need to book at least 6 weeks in advance.

After a slow start to the year...

Got the pan mot'd last Thursday with the possibility of taking it to knockhill on Sunday but ended up in the car. I have day in the office today so took a nice bimble in, which was a tad warm in town traffic - luckily most of the journey is on A roads and 'aircon' speed 😁

Today i went to Hospital for a blood test that was confirmed with an email and two txt mesages. I got there and booked myself in and was straight in, sat down and the nurse went on the computer and nothing booked for me. So now i'm booked in apparently for Friday ffs, i then decided to go for a Mcdonalds and a ride through the North Wessex Downs, 42 degrees today so no matter what you wear it's fucking hot!!🥵
Anyway i'm going back out later when thing's have cooled down a bit.:)

How much wind protection do you get on the Pansexual? I'm guessing quite a lot. On a naked bike with lots of air flow I've discovered the joys of a mesh jacket - in my case a Furygan. Bought two years ago at J&S during a warm spell because it was on offer. I wondered how many times I'd really wear it but if the sun's out and it's anything above 21 degrees it's my go-to jacket. Combined with mesh gloves it's bloody lovely. Like a kevlar T bag. Feels like I'm wearing a T shirt. Wish they made a matching pair of trousers.

This MOT ritual is an annual occurence for every vehicle? Must suck. I just paid my 2yr registration on the KTM (250USD), they send you stickers for the plate and that's about it. It's the cost for the privilege to rent a plate and be robbed by insurance. Here we just need to pass inspection for the initial registration. I don't think we even have to have emissions testing on motorcycles (unlike autos).

Try RST Ventilator mesh trousers with a detachable waterproof lining and level 2 body armour.

Wind protection is pretty good, mine came with 1" bar risers so I'm slightly above the screen wind flow and my hands are above the mirrors (I keep thinking I'm going to remove the bar riser. The pan makes huge heat from the engine so hot days need to be at speed 🔥🤣 just like Ducatis 😁
Being in NE scotchland I don't have to worry about summer clothing 👍🤣

Bikes and cars you have exempions for the first 3 years from new then a yearly test thereafter.

Having seen quite a few American vehicles when I was over there, I can see why a yearly check would scare some

Wouldn't mind a Pansexual myself one day. It appeals as a characterful jump-on-and-go tourer without being an over-complex heffalump. Never thought about engine heat. You assume because it's enclosed there wouldn't be much of it. TBH I get next to no heat off the Diavel. An underslung decat exhaust no doubt helps a lot.
My hottest bike is the KTM 1190. The configuration means the engine sits further back than a Duc L-twin and the rear cylinder is pretty much directly under your arse, plus the exhaust cat is right next to your foot.
Does the Pan not have an electrically adjustable screen?

It’s under £40 so not really a problem. Good to know other road users have road worthy vehicles 🤔 No mot or tax = no insurance & it’s all digital now so you can’t tax your bike without a valid mot

My pan is 2002 when abs and electric screen were options, newer ones have them as standard. My screen is set low and I've never thought about moving it 👍 you only notice engine heat on hot days in traffic, usually it's good for keeping you toasty

Yay 🥳 my rear master cylinder rebuild kit arrived today.

Yay !!! It doesn’t fit 😡

Bought off eBay where all the ones listed showed fitting to the J,K,L And M model - but today I found out the master cylinder are bigger bore on the K model 🤷‍♂️

Just phoned Cradliegh Heath Kawasaki and ordered the correct OEM one at more than double the price - but hey, it will fit 🤪

I previously have had a Moto Guzzi Norge. Any heat coming off the engine is trapped by the bodywork and is lovely and warming when its cold and way too hot at slow speed in the summer. Best to whip the lower bodywork off in May and put it back in October.

Unfortunately the pan isn't designed to remove fairings and still be useful 🙄 some Merkan chaps have run loads of tin foil style insulation to reduce and redirect the heat - but the UK doesn't really get that kind of heat load usually

Riding the Harley in this weather is fucking murder at traffic light's and believe me Shithampton has loads. There is a bit with 5 sets of traffic lights in a 600 yard bit of road, fucking lunacy!!
