These are for the bumwah boi's, all filters and fluids replaced, spit and polish and back with my lazy ass brother.
Busy day yesterday, car in for service, had to take our Gert to the fracture clinic, pick up the car then go to Barnsley for a curry with a lot of current and retired blood bikers getting together for a manager thats stepping down after over 10years of service. I’ve not been doing shifts for quite a bit now, but they awarded me for my part in getting this:-
Which was nice.
Also yesterday my prize for winning the photo competition arrived, a canvas print of the winning pic.
Today, went for a bimble over the Snake Pass, had a cuppa in Glossop then went over Holme Moss and toward Penistone,a couple of pictures, sorry my BM isn’t in either.

Had a nice little blast around today. New seat is ace. Transformed comfort and rideability. Must have done 220 odd miles with no hint of arse ache.
Only trouble was, possibly as tomorrow is forecast to be wet, every man, his wife and their dog was out on the roads today. Between Brampton and Alston I got stuck behind an Aston Martin of all things. He did the decent thing eventually and signaled me to overtake. Then a quick brew at the Nook cafe at Slaggyford (fast becoming one of my favourite stops) just in time to see an old boy fall off his KTM 950 in the gateway for no apparent reason. He was stationary with his foot down and seemed to decide it was time for a lie down. A few of us rushed over to help him pick it up and he fought us all the way, like he was trying to lie it down again. Got him back aboard eventually and sent him wobbling off down the road. General consensus was that he was mad as a coot.
Made it to Alston at 4:30 and no sign of the police drone van in it's usally hiding place so did a return run down Hartside and back again. And on the way back up this time I got stuck behind a bloody Porsche..
Shit loads of loose chippings on all approach roads to Alston so bear that in mind anyone thinking of heading over there.
New tyres only been on a fortnight and they seem to have shed an alarming amount of rubber already. Oh well...

I'm still not sure about the place. Nice enough bait and all that but never seems to have any atmosphere.
There's usually more craic at the big petrol station in Alston and the machine coffee is decent enough.
It's true it's not really a bike meet but I don't bother too much with all that. It's just a nice cafe to me. I like to sit on the grass bank in the sunshine with a brew and then have a nose round the bikes. It's a lovely spot on a nice day.
The petrol station at Alston is handy but it would be a lot better if there were some benches to sit on.
I think they're missing a trick there. If there was some seating they'd sell more food and drink.

Yesterday I popped out on the old Monster with a mix of approximately 2.5% of the new 103ron petrol and 97.5% standard E5 99ron. It`s a 2005 bike with the 2 valve 992cc air cooled engine and at low rpm it has always been very bad mannered with lots of spluttering and spitting before smoothing out into a lovely muscular power band up to around 7500rpm but this small addition of better petrol really made a big difference and it was positively pleasant yesterday between 2000-3000rpm and absolutely delicious from there up and away. I`m looking forward to trying it in my 2011 Multi 1200 although with a more modern engine I`ll be surprised if the improvement is as noticeable.
It`s not cheap fuel @ £40 + vat for 10 litres but I think 10 litres used at a 2.5% mix should cover around 6500-7500 miles so not a substantial cost and an absolute bargain for the improved usability on the road.

It says it's leaded - could that cause any issues with prolonged use in a modern engine / fuel system / ECU?
I bought it from my local lawn mower repair centre, the owner there has a 2002 Kawasaki , he doesn`t cover huge mileage , hundreds p/a as opposed to thousands but he says he only uses this stuff and doesn`t mix it with any forecourt petrol. He has had no problems after several years of use.
From what I`ve read on line the main item that can be damaged by lead is the catalytic converter, this has been removed on my bikes and I`d like to to think that with just 2.5% of the fuel added the amount of lead is insignificant so I hope will cause no damage . I`ll let you know in a few years hey.
