Road sweeper and drain buster trucks were such a common sight in the 1970's they even made a Dinky toy version. I remember kids in primary school having these.
You rarely see the real thing now. Where I lived down south they hadn't cleaned the drains for years. The entire storm drain system for miles was so completely silted up the only option would be to dig the lot up and relay it.

Some Irish ecomentalist net-zero bloke with a lady's name (Donna something) on GBNews this morning trying to convince us why we need go further and faster towards national bankruptcy. He cites nature depletion. He says proof of climate change is the UK being one of the most nature-depleted countries on earth. If he means the UK is undergoing one of the fastest rates of habitat loss and bio-diversity shrinkage and native species loss, he is right. He then blamed that situation on non-existant climate change and insufficiently zealous net-zero policies.

And no one thought to pull him up and point out that we are also one of the most densely populated countries on earth and did he not think that the two might be connected. He green-washed the elephant on the room and no one noticed. If GBNews, about the only news channel prepared to challenge the climate change myth, can't see when we're being gaslit what hope is there?

They're controlled oppostion.

Real opposition rarely gets any exposure on the tv, and when it does they'll have someone in the wings ready to pull the conspiracy theory card.

Unfortunately we have a fairly high profile portion of the population who need to have a cause to attach themselves to for whatever reason. Equally we have Glorious Leaders doing their best to destroy the Free World and the 2 have combined over Climate Change .
The beauty of their argument is that the climate has changed over millennia and continues to do so and if it settles down (it won`t) they can argue that thank goodness they took the action they did, crisis averted but keep paying those taxes y`all just in case it comes back.
If it doesn`t settle down then more action and tax increases etc are required to save us from a fate worse than being forced to listen to nothing but Coldplay for the rest of your lives.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of educated idiots there are out there.
 
He's the father of the kid who was the 70's version of Greta Thunberg, her name is Severn Cullis-Suzuki. She like Greta, predicted the end of the world in 1992. At the U.N. at the age of 12 she did a drama lhama speech.

Since then she has made a living by.....Jetting all around the world telling people about climate change 🤭
