Not much activity might be a good indication that Diavel owners haven't experienced any problems...or maybe that they just don't like to whinge about them

OK then, here is my 2011 Diavel Carbon. Bought locally last summer and I love it. I remember trying one at Italia Classic in Lincoln when they were still trading when they were launched. It was a bike that clearly stayed at the back of my mind because of the positive impression it made so probably no surprise I have ended up with one! At 6’ 1” I find it comfy for the riding I use her for and (IMHO) she is fast (if you want), good to look at and different. For whatever reason you don't see many around. Mods since I took ownership include the HP Corse silencer, some EvoTech protection, a Sargent seat, a Puig screen, changed mirrors and levers, fitted a Nitron shock at the rear and had MCT in Stowmarket improve the front forks. Upgrading suspension was definitely money well spent. Now thinking about an ECU reflash to improve low speed engine running which is a touch “gruff” shall we say…… BSD are nearby and are highly regarded for Ducati servicing etc.
The bike came with the Evotech tail tidy which I am unconvinced by. Might look to refit the original to see if I like that any better.
Just ordered new belts and a starter cable upgrade kit so it looks like she is a keeper for now! Not sure the new V4 version does it for me from a styling viewpoint but thats a personal opinion…….

We know the mordor dwarf bought an X model which is the better looking bike but feet forward. The mordor dwarf didn't have it long because he struggled with reach and ickle legs.

Just updating this, I’ve since discovered, coz I had to a Desmo svc on an XDiavel recently, that if you convert the foot forward pegs to normal position, you also have to change the exhaust silencer or else you’ll melt your right boot, which spoils the look of the RHS.I’m sure there’ll be one in my shed one day.

Don't know why people are anti the forward controls. To me cruisers seem odd with ya feet in a conventional position.
Probably used his experience of the feet forward X model to realise it's not for him but the standard models were a better fit
Forward controls tend to limit ground clearance because your heels touch down. You can't weight the pegs in turns either.
The X-Diavel is a cruiser but the 1260 S is more a muscle bike to my way of thinking, like the Rocket 3 R. But the Diavel has much better leg room. The R3R is pretty cramped believe it or not for such a big bike. The 1260 Diavel is more comfortable, faster too and a lot more nimble.
I'm not buying it as a cruiser. Much as I like cruisers I couldn't have one as an only bike because they're not dynamic enough to cover all bases. I did think about an X because they're great bikes but ruled it out for this reason. I want the 1260 as an only bike that will give me a hint of bruiser-cruiser vibe but with the performance and handling of a naked. I not expecting it to handle like a sports bike or a streetfighter but it'll be damned good and a lot faster through the turns than the Rocket.

That all makes sense.. I know the diavel handle pretty fucken good for a big bruiser, I've had a few ride outs with em. I've only ever riden Harleys with
forward controls and the lack of ground clearance was just part and parcel I guess..
