Do we need a ‘how’s Birdie’ thread?

Very positive news Steve. Glad to hear you are feeling stronger and thinking beyond Christmas. At this rate you’ll be thinking beyond spring and getting the bike out!

Don't worry about the golf for the time being, courses are all at least semi flooded swamps now so you're not missing anything. Keep stuffing your face and piling on the pounds.

With Christmas coming I can't imagine you losing....your sense of taste. Parsnips, roasties and gravymmm. I know some fucker would roll brussell sprouts in stuffing and test the tongue's taste buds. Brussels man, no one deserves that shit :(

After the positive reaction to the short course of steroids I am now back to square one, no appetite and a dirty taste in my mouth. Luckily my doctor rang the other day just to see how I was coping with everything after all the treatment, I explained how I had such a positive reaction to the steroids and that I was worried the pressent loss of appetite would spoil my Christmas, her reaction was (we can't have that) and has prescribed another short course of steroids which I start on Saturday.

Hope you're hungry by Christmas Day - if not just have another one in January 🥳
 
All good news, I was previously on a 1 month session of steroids, from the day I finished I went downhill at a rapid rate, luckily this appointment with the consultant was only 7 days after, she has agreed to give me a prolonged period while monitoring me for side effects, the difference is night and day.
I had a scan around a month ago which showed the tumour had continued to shrink by 5 mm, they are happy if they can stabilise it let alone shrink it, remember this type of tumor doesn't react to chemo with 60% of people. I have developed a tremor in my right hand which they think could be nerve damage in my shoulder due to the chemo of which they are going to investigate further, something I can live with although it makes welding a bit difficult. 😂 Once the steroids kick in I'll be back to pottering about again, to give you an Idea, while on steroids l renovated my greenhouse, mounted a 47in tv on the bedroom wall including all the cabling and wiring, removed the wheels on my car to paint the calipers, within a week off steroids I am struggling to climb my stairs or walk up the drive. Steroids Rule.
