Your Ideal (or fantasy ✨) Homes 🏡

The Woodroad viaduct carries the main Glasgow to Carlisle line. For the size of the place and its features that house is very cheap. It'll be cheap for a reason: trains running over your bedroom ceiling every night. If you look on Scotrail's website "future upgrades" are planned for the line through Cumnock but doesn't say what they are. The viaduct is listed so presumably they're not going to touch the structure itself but they could conceivably upgrade to a double line in which case the viaduct would probably be by-passed and become a footpath and cycle track. So you'd have the great unwashed traipsing on foot over your house and throwing dog shit bags into your garden I would imagine.
Probably won't happen any time soon as Snippy and hubby Christopher McBiggins have bankrupted Scotland's public finances. But that place wouldn't do for me. £385K will buy you a very nice property is Ayrshire.

Now that has the makings of a nice garage

The view when you open the bedroom curtains on a Sunday morning….

How rude, we have motorways as far north as, err Perth 🤔I'll get me coat
I know that road. It goes through your capital city - Battenburg or something I think it's called, I'm not sure, I just know it's full of fruitcakes. It's essentially a drive-in photo booth where you get your photograph taken and the Scotch government sends you a copy in the post for up to £2500.

Dunno, I'd consider it. It would be within my affordable price range if I could manage to keep my salary. I'd soundproof the fak out of the bedroom with the savings.

It's a lot of house for the money, but for a reason.
If I had that budget I'd go south into Dumfries and Galloway or the Borders where your money goes further and buy something like this.
Half the size, but plenty of ground, stunning location and no neighbours. Or only one, from Google Earth.

That would suit Chizzer, it's got a urinal for Dwarfs
I do like a good Chesterfield 👀

I'd imagine if you'd built an undeground complex for the next purge/nuclear war/ tv licence vans, then hollowing out the cactus and putting the air extraction/suction pipes inside the catus, you'd never know anything was underground

Bored, I went on rightmove to see the price of decent semi rural homes and found this one

But then I scrolled down to maps because estate agents are snakey bastids

Selected open map, then selected satellite and zoomed in. Interesting neighbour to the right :D

On the other hand, those are American planes, so if you owned a Harley such a neighbour would be very useful for borrowing those funny sized Merkin spanners.

Google earth is definitely your friend when scoping property. I was interested back along in a house in Thornhill, Dumfrieshire. I know the place quite well and knew roughly where the house was but thought I'd have a look at the street view just to make sure. As it happened the next door neighbour was very obligingly standing in his open front door as the camera car went past. He was a very fat man in a vest with the remains of several meals down the front of it. In one hand he held a can of beer and with the other was giving the finger to the Google car. Behind him the passageway was stacked with bags of rubbish. Invaluable local info. Saved me wasting five minutes of my life phoning the estate agent.
