My empire of dirt...

Happy new year my peoples!!!
It's 4 am here and I'm in bed eating chocolates... been a busy last few weeks and the weather has been mostly fucken shit so not great progress but we is getting there..
As always I underestimated the amount of work/ how Long things take ( this is why I only work on hourly rate and don't price work!) But some progress has been made..
I can't sleep so even though the garage ain't finished, I thought I'd do an update.
It's 2/3rds clad now. Today I put timbers in the back wall in prep for the lean to and finally straightened out the last walls top plate with a view to cladding that today when I the sun comes up!
Was hoping to get cladding finished a week back but the weather has been shit and the few fine days we have had, I've spent doing a paid job.. our storage is paid up till this Wednesday and we don't want to pay more so it's crunch time!!! Can't get it 100% finished as the foofing supply store is shut till the 15th so no flashings till after then but I can get it water tight and secure.
Me and b were invited to a few nye gigs but opted to stay home and get shit done and just have a Lil BBQ and get rat arsed!!
Was a good day! Anyhu, some pics of stuff...
Note the amount of shit in the front room.. this is the reason why we need the garage finished.. can't start on the house till that's outta here!!!
Hmmm... thought I had more pics of garage but obviously not... had our first salad outta our garden today! 4 types of lettuce, spring onion and herbs! Was lovely with BBQ chicken!!

Garage is nearly done! Ixh.... gunn put a lean to on the back for more storage/some shade to hang the hammock in! Got digger turning up today as there is a tree stump right where the corner post needs to be and I ain't digging it out by hand!!!
B put an ad on the local Facebook page and mins later this fellas wife replied, the chap then came had a look and gave us an estimate. Seems to be a nice chap and we had a few beers while discussing stuff.

s true to his word he could turn out to be a godsend. He says he's always passing our place with his truck and digger and can stop in after work to do a few hours here and there which will save us transport cost for a start, also he likes cash and a beer!

It is a peach tree! That one is staying for now.. I want it gone but b loves it so it stays...
It is a lovely spot, we are so happy and lucky to have got it. House is a wreck, but loads of potential! We don't have the money to make it all happen immediately, such is life, but over time it will happen.
 
Took some rubish to the dump yesterday morning. It's a couple of km from here. Just past the dump , down the same driveway, is a Lil lake. It's the first time I've been there . It's really cool! Loads of rock formations around it, I'll get some better pics one day.
had a BBQ yesterday and obviously it started passing it down! Fortunately the deck has a roof over it so it didn’t matter! Dome idiot removed all the guttering from the house at some point so that's another job that needs doing...

That lake is actually a limestone quarry that has been filled with water. At the far end looks like a structure is there and that used to be the public access part of the lake where we used to swim. But it is a cliff edge of the quarry so there is no easy entry or exit to the water, it just goes straight down as soon as you get in. The dodgy local cunce used to push their stolen cars in there and eventually the access was stopped as you had to cross private land to get there.

Do you know if it's safe to swim there? Not that I would, I fucken hate swimming! But b loves it...
 
We used to swim there, thats how I know what happened. The landowner eventually had enough of people disrespecting his property and pulled a gun alledgedly…It is fucking deep at the far end I know that!

Just clean it up qnd paint it for now... it looks shit but it's watertight and will last a good few years yet I think.. it wouldn't actually be a huge cost to put mew iron on it but we have a very limited budget!
 
Speaking of the garage, we had the digger in today! Removed the 2 stumps and bored the holes for the posts for the lean to.. 2 hours and 250 bucks.. money well spent as just the stumps would have taken me days to do!!!
Also I fucken hate digging!
The garage is consuming more time and money than I'd like but it has to be done as a means to the bigger picture.

Once again most of the pics I took are in my gallery but ain't available to upload via the forum.. if that makes sense... doing my head in.. something changed a few months back and now when I hit upload a file, it doesn't give me my gallery, just a limited amount of recent pics....
 
Only managed 4 hours on the shed today as after hospital me and b went for brunch at the Cafe. By the time we got home it was 12 and by 4 I needed a beer!!!i ts fucken hot today... 28-30ish.. tinternet says 24but that is crap!!
Anhuy, good progress.. got remaining posts in and a few braces , mixed concrete ect.. hopefully tomorrow after work I'll get rafters in and start shuttering for mowing strip..

B had day off today and done a spreadsheet of expenditure so far.. we doing OK!
We will run out of money sooner rather than later but we ain't spent as much as I thought we had...
