Nice job once more Exi, loving the attention to detail
Endurance racer replica, surely there should be quick-disconnect fittings on the brake lines ?
Just saying !!![]()
How big is this bike you're building?
I didn't realise it was a scale model!
Chiz-sized then. Cool.
1/12th not 1/24thChiz-sized then. Cool.
*applause*Probably why it's taking you so long then.![]()
Quicker than your Pocher kit build thoughProbably why it's taking you so long then.![]()
It will be mounted on the left hand side of the seat unit where to original bikes night time running light was, although it’s that diddy I might mount it on top of the seat unit right at the rear![]()
If we lived in a country that drove on the other side of the road then mounting it on the left would make sense. Personally I'd aim for the centre or looking at the back. on the right side
More so than your scooterRoad, you think this will see a road?![]()
That’s why I was thinking on top as it’s so small it won’t really matter. If we lived in a country that drove on the other side of the road then mounting it on the left would make sense. Personally I'd aim for the centre or looking at the back. on the right side
Maybe check previous posts regarding frame.Your stop light needs to be either on the centre line or to the offside.
What’s it going to be registered as?
I’ve not read what you’ve done frame wise, have you retained enough of the original frame for it to keep it’s reg number, if so, is it pre ‘86? (That’s when the rules changed)

So a DT only mot means no lights are necessary at all ? Not even a brake light? That’s a bit dangerous isn’t it? You could get rear ended. Well, not you as you’re fitting a brake light, but someone else could. It will be on Day Time only (on advisories), with no lights that means no brake light required
Still needs an MOT after 41 years old, although I’ve heard it said the additional stipulations that enforce this only applies to cars - I doubt that would hold up in court thoughOnce it gets to 40 you can scrap the MOT and the road tax when it gets to 41 (providing you register it as being "Historic") - Course, it may not be finished by then, but you never know![]()

There’s no such thing as a DT mot, only allowable changes that will necessitate advisoriesSo a DT only mot means no lights are necessary at all ? Not even a brake light? That’s a bit dangerous isn’t it? You could get rear ended. Well, not you as you’re fitting a brake light, but someone else could.
It all seems highly dangerous, thank goodness we don’t have MOTs and all that shenanigans here![]()
Does my historic motorcycle need an MOT?Still needs an MOT after 41 years old, although I’ve heard it said the additional stipulations that enforce this only applies to cars - I doubt that would hold up in court though
It will be finished at 39 years old![]()
It's a grey area and if in doubt with a particular vehicle I would MOT it - have you read the 'substantially altered' guide lines? Last time I did they weren't clear. I imagine yours would be fine due to the 30m year rule.Does my historic motorcycle need an MOT?
Vehicles generally become eligible for MOT exemption from the date they become 40 years old. If your vehicle (car/motorcycle/bus) has not been substantially altered within the last 30 years according to the Department of Transport Guidance it will be exempt from MOT.
I presume yours comes under (substantially altered?) My triton hasn't been MOTd for years.
Clear as mud isn't it![]()
