And doubled it’s valueToday I put £160.00 of diesel in my Discovery!
I glad I finished my hedging at the end of March. I was burning a full tank a week. My last tankful was £90 instead of the usual £80 just before prices really started to rocket. Took the Freelander for a service this morning and now it will be on light duties and short distances only until October. I'll be using my 1.6 Caddy van for everything else as it does 55 mpg.Today I put £160.00 of diesel in my Discovery!
I take a bike whenever practical. I don't begrudge the cost of fuel for the bike.I glad I finished my hedging at the end of March. I was burning a full tank a week. My dad had days like that when he was ill , turned out it was due to my mum being haphazard times my mum gave him his meds , never happened again when he went into a nursing home and they had a regimented medicine scheduleSaw dad today and we think we might finally have a nursing home to put him in. The delay has been social services and a "panel" to decide if my dad who joined the armed forces at 15, then when he left he went straight into work and then worked into his early 70's", can be placed into a home they reccomended, if their budget allows it. If yes, he might finally be out on or just after the 13th.
Sadly his dementia is showing more and it's one I'm sure some of you may have seen if in this position. I've seen quite a few friends have very placid parents do this. On the days when the dementia takes over they become quite aggressive in both tone and movement. He's not hit anyone yet but it wouldn't be too difficult to imagine him doing it on the worst of dementia days. Thankfully although he is going down hill, we still have more good dad days than angry dad days.
He's still a fucking arsehole though. Just as he's walking me towards the unit's exit door, out loud he says "I can't get an erection anymore, you think they have any pills for that?"

Is it because of the far rightAfter being laid up with the flu for a few weeks and recovering from this weekends party, the heavy rain that has also plagued us for weeks finally let up so I went to work!!!
Only 4 hours of doing my favorite thing... digging holes. Nearly fucken killed me..
Im slightly unfit atm..
Anyhu, nice to be out the house and earning money.
Unfortunately we have a cyclone rapidly approaching so I may be off work again real soon..
We have had so much rain of late, slips everywhere, bridges washed away and road closures. So far our immediate neighborhood has been relatively unscathed but its not good and we could be fucked up yet..
It's a bit grim. I've mates in areas that have diversions of an hour on terrible roads that are about to get slammed again. My plumber mate went to work yesterday morning and couldn't get home till this afternoon due to road closures. Slept at the client's house!
And its b's birthday today and I forgot....
Hardest week of my life was spent around there... over 30 years ago.... fantastic place....Just taken the dog for a walk around Kielder Water.
