Buy a track bike with No V5 & No ID??the ebayer seller has 185 feedback will give a reciept though
 
depends how much in money terms, and then it depends how much you are willing to risk havin it took off ya.
Ask plenty of questions before parting with your money, like info about where he got the bike, how long he's owned it, what area it came from. If he's genuine he won't mind answering anything you ask, but if all you get are sketchy answers, leave it. Good luck mate.
 
In full agreement with Desmo. Has he got all the recipts from anythin done to it. If your just gonna track it great but you'll need the v5 fur the road, Sounds doddgy to me.
 
Depends on how you trust the seller.
I bought an ex race bike without any v5,its never been registered here,and I've no intention of doing so.
My bike had been raced in the IOM and various local series,the seller (who was retiring from racing)was keen to come and see how we got on tracking it so didnt just walk away when he got the cash.
 
I'd sure I'd seen comments that police forces do checks on track day bikes at track days because they know so many are stolen bikes, I'd make sure you have all the receipts and as much info as you can on the bike, if the frame / engine numbers are ground off walk away.

Correct, I have heard this aswell, Police just having a wander round at trackdays, although I have never seen it myself.

I wouldn't like to think of a bike being confiscated from me and the stigma attached to it !
 
Not too long ago - when entering races, if that may be ultimately what you're thinking of, the clubs insisted on engine/frame no's on entry forms!!
 
i know of one guy who has had two bikes taken off him in the last two years for the same reasons.....i wouldnt touch it
 
Just found your bike on ebay and the question in my head is, is it a trackbike because its been written off?
It has light fittings still present so its been a roadbike,it also has a polished swingarm (and is that a carbon airbox?),the sellers says he's had it for a year,ask him some more details about it and if he doesnt know would he mind passing the details of the previous owner to you.
Worth a try.:)
 
Your local plod can trace it with the frame/engine number, dunno if they'll do it for general punters tho. I know they can tell you if there's any 'history' attached to the reg no, as long as it's your vehicle, but it'll be a bit late by then I suppose.
 
Try asking him for his landline number so you can go and see it, he won't be happy doing that if it's dodgy!
