Bunch a dirty Guinnesss

I was in Puerta Caleta Paula about 12 years ago to inspect 5 containers of red shrimp, so was there for a few days. It's the only place I've been to where absolutely no one spoke English - even in the hotel or the (small local) airport. I'm sure they could, they just wouldn't.

Didn't bother me as I could make myself understood to order steak and a bottle of red every night.

I remember passing through the Basque country a few years back.

Unfriendliness greeted my English but controlled hostility was the response to my broken Spanish.

I just drove South until I was back in civilisation.

The French I met in Paris, we'll... I wouldn't have pissed on them if they were on fire.

The rural areas though - the non-tourist bits of Normandy - they were friendly there on the occasion I was staying there.

Ive only spent 2 nights in paris and didnt really speak to anyone other than waiters and bar staff so no idea what the rest are like.
Worked for a few months in chatel on the boarder of france and Switzerland. Took a few days for the locals to realize we wernt brits then it was all good. The swiss police are much nicer than the french though but the food is better in the french lock up...

The video clip of Argentina before they went out for the final is intriguing....maybe goes some way to explain their performance and back turning

Conspiracy-oriented rather than simply investigative.

Yes, but just focussing on that video clip and how Argentina were in and after the final - those alone are very strange. What could make a team that is about to walk out for the WC Final be so down?

Is the answer, "Who cares?"

Corrupt Soccerball is a waste of everyone's time and money - that's its core purpose of course.
Dramatics on the pitch, "poor" refereeing decisions in order to inflame the emotions, "VAR controversies", vomitus amounts of virtue-signalling... it's got the lot.

Ignore it completely.

You seem to know a lot about it for one who doesn't care? :D

I did used to watch it in the 70-90s. The 2000s onwards, not so much. The odd match. The direction of travel was painfully obvious.

I do see a lot of people chinning on about it though, I have to say. It's still "popular", I guess.

You do all know don't you that this kickball competition has finished? Some Spaniards beat some ex-Spaniards in a very boring game, even by kickball standards, and everyone has gone home.
