So; listening to local radio today, some new Seat car being launched so talking with the dealer...anyhows he was talking about their new quality system which he said would 'filter down' from Seat thru the group. audi, vw, lambo, and....Ducati.........did I hear right??? and if I did what's that about then? Didn't realise there was any connection?

it depends upon what part it was, for example Gates make Ducati timing belts and also make VAG timing belts so in theory a qc improvement on one would be seen in another. Business wise i don't believe there is a connection between VAG and Ducati, i don't think they share any assembly line production but will some oem suppliers. Aprillia used to ( and may still) assemble for BMW bikes and it was rumoured BMW would have bought Marzocchi if Monroe hadn't but i think thats about the only Italian/german connections.
