True story:-
I did a short civilian three month contract for West Yorkshire Police about 12 years ago ( Health and Safety Assessments).
Around a year later I got a letter requesting I attend Jury service at Bradford Crown Court, in a fortnight's time.
Not something I wanted to do as you don't get paid and Bradford is 10 miles away, which would be a nightmare journey at peak traffic times (I think you were expected to be there by 9-30am. ) Plus, you could get allocated a case which lasted months - eek!
So I sent a letter back saying that I had previously worked for West Yorkshire Police and had been in every West Yorkshire Police Station. Therefore, there was a good chance that I may know or have met any officers involved in any Court Case where I was on the Jury.
Week later, I got a letter excusing me from Jury Service.

Today, I laid a new front lawn.
I've had a hateful relationship with my lawn for around 6 years. It was fantastic when I bought the house 11 years ago. The seller told me they didn't like gardening, so had aggregate at the front of the house, but had a lawn laid to sell it. Over time, it had sank and got worse each year. It was at the point now, where it didn't even grown. I can leave it unmown for around 2 months, with only small clumps growing. The only green that the lawn had was basically clover.
I've tried everything over the last 3 summers. I've cored it, spiked it, re-seeded it (With seed that was guaranteed to grow, not on my lawn it wasn't)
So a month or so ago, a had it all dug up and good quality top soil put down, about 10" deep. My thinking is that whatever was put down under the previous lawn was shallow and pish.
While it was up, I have installed a sprinkler system on a timer with a manual over ride.
I left the soil for a month to settle. Rollered it, raked it as flat as I could and finally laid the turf today, around 30m2

I need to sort the stones in the borders I moved and do some weeding around the edges and flags, but it's almost there now. Took about 4 hours today and quite therapeutic.

Longer, 12 kg heavier and 48 bhp down on my ten year old KTM 1190...Auto.
If it floats your boat, go for it. Personally, if I was looking for a not tech heavy or silly expensive used adventure bike (and I didn't already have my KTM) I'd probably go for a 1260 Multi. Good job you've laid it now and not two months earlier. Even with sprinklers it would have struggled with the summer we've had.
You've timed it perfectly. In another couple of weeks the temperatures will cool and the dews will come back at night. If we have another week of heatwave, don't forget to water the hedge as well if it's new-planted. Sprinkler water may not be enough.
