What the feck have you done today?

Well, the $XV made it to work (2.5 miles) - no holes in the engine....leg wasnt covered in oil so all good.

A nice spin this afternoon on the forum's most aesthetically pleasing bike.
Over to Teesdale, along to Alston and the first brew of the year at the Nook cafe.
Then Haltwhistle, back roads through Carrshield to Nenthead, Weardale, Stanhope, Blanchland, past my house (was going to step for a pleasant sit by the wateside at Derwent reservoir but the fuckers charge £1.50 parking for bikes so they can fuck off). Stopped for a breather in the sunshine at Snods Edge church instead.

Saw this Suzuki 500 traillie thingie at the Nook. W reg so 1980-ish? GS/GSX 500 twin engine I'm guessing. Didn't know they'd built such a thing. Quite liked it. Would be nice for burbling round the twisty fell roads.

Taking the bike back to barracks now, then Tesco for a bottle of wine and some sort of fodder for tea and maybe a quick pint as I'm going past the the pub and it would be rude not to. And so ends another day.

2 out of 2 aint bad....Hyper ride to work this morning post Ultimate Rectifier fit and belt tension done - all good....it amazing how different the engine feels literally with releasing a bit of tension in the belts [ did the 5mm allen key setting ]

Tickover slightly high on the SXV when i got home (it was running about 3000) so down to 2000... while not wanting to temp fate it does feel like its running the best its been at the moment...not sure if adding the new rectifier has done anything, probably not...placebo effect i would guess. That being said the next upgrade is a set of 5ohm Dyna coils....

I'm back in Herts. visiting mother she said that her arm hurts today. Apparently the someone visited yesterday morning and gave her a convid jab! We're fast approaching summer even if these jabs were useful; surely there is no flu-like bugs about this time of year.

I saw them being advertised...'spring convid jabs'.

Must have had a lot of stock left over. Bastards.

I don't know about placebo...it must have some actual effect and with bikes being more visceral than cars, it's more pronounced.

Mine definitely felt sharper after just a routine service last week, which is reassuring when you've just paid the bill - you want to have something to show for it.

Yep - definately something to be said for a 'damn good service' - spent a full day on the zed a few weeks back, oil and coolant change, new plugs, cleaned and scrubbed the radiator, including a strip down and clean of the fan assembly....felt loads better...back on that tomorrow (supercorsa's back on for the summer)

When it comes to feel im getting that over time....i can tell when the tyres [ front or back ] are down on by the slightest amount of pressure. with the RSV4 i can tell whereabouts the preload is now - epiphany last year going to the TT, thought it would be a good idea to drop the rear down as much as possible which made the motorway journey loads more comfortable as it took the weight off my wrists....this years up grade is a throttle lock so thatll stop me getting a stiff shoulder...

Rich felt SHarper neither before or after anything.

We can confirm that ☑️

In the olden days the service would always include taking up the slack in the throttle cable and giving the seat a good seeing to with Mr Sheen.

Leccy throttle and a seat that I've had to add rubber pads to to stop my balls sliding into the tank when coming off the throttle. I'm going to get it recovered with alcantara type stuff next winter.

Surely a gent such as your good self should have a maiden available at all times to hold your jewels in place rather than having to resort to rubber pads.

I need all the concentration I can muster on the bike. Having a Doris sitting right behind me would reduce that. It's a safety thing :D
Dunno about that. When I take The Trouble out on the back I always ride more carefully and smoothly so she is ok.
Perhaps with your Doris you suggest she practice holding your balls when not on the bike so one fine day you can take her for a spin knowing she is prepared for any emergency braking manoeuvres ?
