Today i had a visit from my great friend on my old Enfield:) He has it running great, fair play to him!!(y) I think it likes him but it hated me that's for sure, i need to get my Harley sorted but i have been on a bit of a downer with thing's getting seriously shit. I've got all the parts to put drag bars on it, can't gel with the 10 inch rise ones. I did the same with my VN800 that worked so much better and a better stance.:D

Im still in bed. Sounds like its stopped raining, was quite heavy at times overnight but we didnt get the predicted winds so I think the cyclone changed directions.
Looking online I see the local beaches and some low lying areas that have been copping it lately have been cut off again and we are still under a heavy wind warning till 3pm today .
I haven't rang my mate yet but I think his road is closed due to flooding. he won't be at the pub today!
Down south there have been alot of evacuations but dont know if its hit em yet.w

Just looked out the window and its still raining. Pretty windy as well.. its so well insulated in here i can't hear alot so what I did hear last night must have been pretty heavy. Apparently we had 120kph winds!
Just text my mate who lives 8km from here and both ends of his road are cut off atm so hes stuck indoors... my mate polly who lives out a teal Bay is stuck as well, the main road has been closed since the last storm about 3 months ago and the only other road is now closed again.
Hard to find any updates online, most of em are a day or 2 old...

Pretty shit mate, we were meant to get hit by a storm from the states 2 day's ago and fuck all happened!! Hurricane Dave :) weather forecasting here is a joke, i find just looking out of he window is better. Today it was meant to be dry and sunny, it rained and came over with massive black clouds hence the fucking rain!! Beggers belief a lot of the time and these Guinnesss are on huge salaries to talk bullshit ffs!!:)

What do you mean? A hurricane is forecast. The meteorologists call it Dave. And the whole show peters out! I would say the forecasters did a sterling job? Would it have been a different outcome had it been called hurricane Mertyl? You draw your own conclusions!

Yeah the forecasting here is pretty hit and miss. Nowadays though, due to fuck up about 4 years back , where no alerts were given of a huge storm, they cry wolf about every potential weather front. On this occasion they have been largely correct .
I think our part of the north was spared of the worst of it but its not over yet. I think the worst has passed by but we are still getting rain and some pretty strong gusts so I expect more slips and downed trees. Currently about 4000 homes down south without power.
Last big one my mum had no power for a week! She's alot further south and is currently in the path of this one also..

I went to the supermarket last week with Elsie and our dog Lucy (a Staffy).

I sat in the car with both front windows down listening to music, whilst Elsie took a trolley inside with a shopping list. Lucy was sat on the passenger seat (next to me).

As I'm connecting my phone to the internet, an arm appeared through Lucy's window and started to stroke the dog.

It was a woman who had parked nearby, seen the dog through the open window, and decided to make an acquaintance with her.

Now I don't know about you, but if I saw a strange dog sat in a car next to the owner, and the car windows both open, no fookin' way would I risk my health by sticking my hand into the car to make contact with the unknown dog.

Thankfully, Lucy is a friendly soul and didn't react, but Jeez - another dog might have taken exception and bit first, asked questions after....

She'd only do that once with my Jack Russell. Most dogs don't like their personal space invaded by strangers.

Finally started to service the Daytona after it has been languishing, unloved in the garage, (along with the 750SS, which is next for a service, but that's only been around two years) for around three years !! :(
Started by taking the bodywork off & found both rear light fittings broken !! No idea how that's happened unless someone has leant on it while it's been laid up in the garage, (it's parked up right in front of my tool box). It can't have been broken when I last used it because the screws & clips were still all more or less in situ, if the bike had been used with it in that state they would have long gone down the road somewhere I'm thinking
Anyway, that's the first job now !! Out with the Double-Bubble !!

I've also emptied all the old fuel out of the tank, just the dregs to get out & then remove the tank itself. Last time the tank came off it was a buggar to get back on as it must have expanded/grown because it wasn't held in place by the mounts, (it is plastic after all !). I've made up an adjustable clamp for the front mounts this time so I'll see if that works when I come to refit it ! 🤞

Been a good day....got in the garage about 10ish finished about an hour ago....
1. Washed the car.
2. Got the captive spacers in....bit of a general clean as well while the wheels were off.
3. Now the $XV is fixed the fallout of all that fault finding fucked another sprag so replaced that. Ironically the "heavy duty bearing" to me didnt seem very heavy duty...one thing i did do was use the dremmel with a sanding wheel to just take the surface off the collar which the sprag bearing connects to (my theory being if its slightly roughed up a bit it'll connect better). Fired it all back together and the start was instant. Lets see how long it lasts...was a bit of a punt.... (just about to order another sprag for when this one goes)
4. Found a couple of loose bolts up in the rear mudguard so drilled those out and put new stainless ones in.
5. Back in the house to do the weekly hoovering.

Next weeks job will be to get the supercorsa's back on the zed for the summer.

Today I worked till 2 then got rained off. Most of the day was spent digging a trench. I fucken hate digging.. it dont look like much but there was a fuck load of roots in there.
It's gunna be a wood store. 4 x 2.4 mtrs. Clad and roofed in corrugated iron.
Im 24 hours in but 5 of those was picking up materials and about the same digging so its going good. It's for a couple of very well off, old lesbians, its local and they have a heap more work to do if the are happy with me .
they seem to be so far..
