At present you’ll have to show a vaccine Cert but I reckon that will change before the years out.
Edit: just checked the latest, no need for a vaccine cert but if you don’t have a vaccine then you need to produce a negative RT-PCR test result - easy to obtain

Won't be going abroad. I'm moving again, but only half an hour up the road to a house in the middle of biking heaven nowhere. Big skies, no neighbours and a warm dry garage for the bikes. Looking forward to thoroughly exploring the England/Scotland border country, east and west. If we have a hot dry summer (yeah, I know...) maybe a few days on the bike wild camping and island hopping around south west Scotland and the west coast.

Not yet. I'm staying rental for probably another 18 months at least. Spent too much money relocating, so need to recoup, and the market is still very volatile. Interest rates will rise soon, and together with rising inflation that will slow things down.Did you find somewhere to buy in the end
The house I'm in was all I could find in time to complete the sale. It's in a nice place buy the landlord spends fuck all on it and every fixture and fitting is Argos or Poundshop quality. The outbuildings are in a state of collapse so there's no where secure or dry to keep my tools and there's nowhere for my bikes.
But it's served it's purpose. It's been a foot in the door. I've got my face known, made friends, got to know the area and now work is starting to come in. The place I'm going to is only 25 minutes up the road. It's three bedroom farmhouse with a garage for the same money. It's dry, warm, spacious. There's plenty of room to put up friends who visit on bikes and it comes with very useful connections for future work. And it's in a fabulous spot (though filling the freezer and getting some snow chains may be advisable for next winter). It should be the ideal base where I can be comfortable for a while so I can knuckle down and build up my resources. Council tax is the lowest band, there's no water rates as it's on a private bore hole, and I may install a new wood burner with back boiler and link it into the central heating system with a proper control panel so my heating bills will be minimal as I don't need to pay for firewood. If the housing market doesn't slow I may buy a buy-to-let or renovation property and trade my way up from there.
