What other "Hobbies" do you have - pics welcome

I used to shoot clays...specifically Olympic Trap. Had the chance to do it full time but meant moving to Italy at 16...not doing it is the thing I look back on with most regret. I packed in when I got married.
You still do any clays ?

I’ve had shotguns since I was a kid being a farmers son but I’ve never tried clays. It’s something I’ve always fancied having a go at.
Reminds me of when Del Boy went shooting on Only Fools with a pump action, if I remember correctly.
Give me a shout in the summer if you fancy ago on the clays - your local and a few of us go and have a pop on the farm got a few traps etc @Chizel - Founding Father likes a pear shampoo playing with the guns 😂

After seeing the size of your driveway and the featured bikes collection and thinking you must be frikkin loaded that answers a lot.
Sorry to correct you Sev but the 998 & 999 are soon to be mine mte, taken for late payment of the last kilo of Talcum powder delivered to @The skitz .. it’s either that or a mini bus of the ICF leaving him a calling card.. X

I build replica kit cars, mainly Lamborghini, but have done Ferrari 360 and a Porsche 911

I've only had a handful of goes over the last 20 years...every now and then I get the urge.
I remember in my teens i used to go up to Northampton and stay with my cousins, we used to go to one of the old disused quarry's and shoot clays, good fun but i was crap at it and thinking about it you wouldn't be able to do that now what with the nanny state, we also went to a lot of the organised shoots for the day as well, nice spread of grub afterwards, good days back then.

I used to shoot the circuit for English Sporting years ago and worked at EJ Churchill’s for a while when I was made redundant, only shoot a couple of times a year now ( nearly fell over when I saw the price of shells )

I didn't have a clue...just had a look, jeez! They've doubled since the last time I was shooting. My first business was importing Baschieri & Pellagri cartridges from Italy. I'd shot with them over there and you couldn't get them in the UK so started importing them, I was 16 and an arms dealer :D can you believe I didn't need anything other than a shotgun certificate. Did it for a couple of years, but Express started buying components off them and their business was worth a lot more than mine so the supply stopped.

I was sponsored shot so got my shells paid for in the same way, then just shot up local farm after kids came along and we used to buy in bulk then just share out - but yeah 3 times the price 🤔

Reading Graham Norton's autobiography is gay (anything to do with Game of Thrones is a bit mincy as well TBF).
Reading novels by Cormac McCarthy or anything non-fiction about guns or motorbikes is a proper man hobby.

Magazines with lady pictures isn't reading.

I go to the gym, probably too much at times, and enjoy walking the Dog on the beach or in the great countryside we have outside our front door here on the edge of the South Downs.

The house and garden also keep me busy, I have for example just finished a complete Kitchen install.

But what you guys will appreciate is this, which I've taken advantage of lockdown this year to fit an even bigger engine to.
so it's now 6.5M running a 225HP 3.0L V6 Fuel injected 2-stroke, and should now top out well over 50knots.

What range will you get on that?
Sorry, it's a long answer to a 'piece of string' question.

It's got a 130l underdeck tank, but fuel consumption and range depends on not only how much you open the throttle but also the sea state, tide direction, load on board, engine trim, etc.

It's a heavy hull built for a rougher sea state because it's a commercial spec hull built for work rather than leisure.
I brought it as a used and abused bare hull and refitted it myself 14yrs ago now.
But it's a continuing battle each year really.

The new 225 engine will actually be more efficient, having newer EFI technology than the old 200.
I have stuck with a 2-stroke as I love the noise they make when the exhaust is out of the water.

But figures for the old engine were as follows:

At very low non-planning(displacement) speeds where the hull is very inefficient @3l/nm.
ie in harbour speed limits of 5 Knots.

At cruising speed of @20-25 knots in calm conditions, 1/3 to 1/2 Throttle, engine trimmed well, 2K revs @1.5-2.5l/nm

At full throttle, light load @48-50knots in calm conditions, 5-6K revs @4.5 to 5l/nm.
Or about the same towing a Doughnut or wakeboarder.

But a rough trip bashing through waves at 10-20 knots, throttling up and down reading the sea etc can be @3.5-4.5l/nm.

I'm expecting a 15-25% better efficiency with the new engine lower down the rev range, and @35% better at WOT.

When I take it down to the Channel islands, I top the tank off at Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight, and carry an additional 60l of fuel in cans on deck to do the 65nm down to Alderney where I top up again and carry on down to Jersey.
I've never had to use the spare fuel in cans on deck, it's an insurance policy if the weather breaks and I'm battling the sea all the way.

A thought.

As I no longer work Fridays, when the weather gets better in the spring, and we are able to mix more freely, I'm planning to try using it on Fridays more, which probably means popping over to the Island for a coffee etc in Cowes, or round to Yarmouth for lunch.
I'm happy to carry some passengers, so will let you guys know occasionally what time I'll be dropping it in the water at the Camber slipway in Portsmouth.
