Just bought a brand new alloy tank for my 851 of Nat Bennett and for some reason the wife is'nt to impressed

I tried to explain that there as rare as hens teeth and I know the alloy tank thats on at the moment is fine but she refuses to grasp the fact if the tank gets trashed I could spend ages looking for a replacement , especially an alloy one .

I suppose I better stay hidden up here on the comp until she calms down .

:D :D :D

hmmm, i can't understand it myself... i am currently up to 4 tanks for Bob :D

Can never have enough tanks .....

...funny that, mine wasn't impressed when I replaced the Koni shocks on my Imola for the Ohlins - no amount of explaining that they are superior by miles could convince her...

..."I like the colour" she said though!!!

still haven't told her what I paid for them !!;)

hey,i got divorced because i wouldn't sell my vfr750 to pay for a new fitted kitchen!!!!!!!
that was 15 years ago tho'

...then on the other side, no amount of explaining on her part that replacing my bikes in our stables with a horse or horses can convince me

I must get it easy - my missus suggested bringing the bike into the kitchen :p

But then, when we started going out I had a VF500 in pieces in my kitchen, so I suppose she's expected it.

I always find with a new one that they're very stiff and can be quite tiring.
The trick with the hammer works well for getting them limbered up, especially around the knees. Although a few good hard knocks on the elbows and shoulders can also help.
But by far the best method is to soak em in the bath (after you've covered them in saddle soap) - steaming hot water - then stick em in the airing cupboard stuffed full of old newspaper. After about a weeks drying out they should be dead easy to slip on and off but you may need to put them through a mangler a couple of times.
I've got an old pair that I like to use in summer now and again but there's nothing beats the smell of a brand new set.

Whoooops, sorry peeps, wrong thread.
