Wee run today

Cracking day out was had!!!!

Met up with Stuart (Mad Dash) today for a wee trundle out.

Met up at Kincardine services at 8:00am, in order to try and beat some of the anticipated traffic and attentions from the boys in blue.

Strangely enough, her majesty's finest were already at Kincardine but took no notice of the shrinking violets and tucked into their donuts instead.

The day started out beautiful, with temp's into the teens by the time we departed and made our way to Dollar, Muckhart, up Glen Devon, Creiff, up the Sma' Glen and onto Aberfeldy where a fuel stop was taken, and the required natter about the route up to that point.

From there we headed to Kenmore, Killin, Lix Toll and Crianlarich.

We were well ahead of schedule by now, but were slowed down now by rain  from Crianlarich to Tyndrum.

We decided to stop for a coffee at this point, good thinking! In the time it took to sup the coffee and have a wee replan, the temperature rose, the rain cleared and the clouds lifted a bit - as a result the roads started to dry and it was decided to hit the road again!

From here, I was a bit unfamiliar with the rest of the route - I needn't have had any concerns though as Stuart took the lead and set a fine pace along roads that were less well known to me.

So, from Tyndrum we headed to Dalmally, Inverary, Arrochar, Helensburgh and onto catch the end of MotoGP at Ducati Glasgow.

We never saw rain again, and enjoyed a fantastic trip - because we were away so early the roads were virtually empty all the way to Tyndrum and barely had any traffic to contend with all the way back to Ducati Glasgow.

It was a grand day out and thoroughly enjoyed seeing another Desmosedici out and about - thanks Stuart!

Shame about the rain, and the MotoGP result, but a great day out!

Sorry about the long post :o

Glad to hear you had a good day out.........

Try not to forget about us........;)

you know... the non desmo club members:)

Don't worry too much Davie, they couldn't have had that much fun.

They were going that SLOWLY that they only had time to take one photie!

Yer right Paul - we were practicing for the next you get out with us

My tank has 21 Lts mate = 200+ miles (F4)........... I can afford to take me time!!!! Still have the round bought before you boys get to the bar:beer: ;)

Good job you can take yer time, the F4 can't manage much else :lol2:

And no-one is gonna believe a scouser getting a round in!

I think you'll find I stood my round today :p

As usual, my bike is clean already mate, more than can the same be said of yours the last time I saw it! :fou:

Yeah.....well at least Mad Dash's bike looks better than yours! :p

That's Martin's handywork with the decal kit :D Absolutely BRILLIANT run though. I usually stick to the West Coast, so the Sma' Glen was a new route for me... as Arnie famously stated, "I'll be back...." I have to admit I was a bit twitchy to start, kept seeing pound signs around every corner, and being limited to 6000 (rpm not mph :D ) didn't help... but as the temperature rose, so did the confidence and on a few occasions I let the bike "breath"... oh my god  So, thanks to Scot for an introduction to some of the best roads I've seen for a while. Two D16RR's thundering down Glendevon was only equalled by them hammering along the Arochar - Helensburgh loch side road, you know, the Roller Coaster Road (new fork seal please Martin)

Nice one. I got out yesterday, did one of my local routes, around 90 miles, baking sunshine. Bored out of my skull. ????? I can't work that one out either.

I think we had such a great time, Pete, because neither of us was that familiar with the entire route.

Stuart hadn't been on the Sma' Glen before - and I'd only done a couple of bits of the Dalmally to Helensburgh section a looooong time ago.

Coupled with leaving home before 07:30 we never really encountered traffic until we were heading back to Glasgow - it all added up to a fantastic day out!

Same again - HYPER style
