WDW 2006 Cancelled

It seems that WDW has been cancelled for 2006 and postponed until 2007. I'm sort of pleased as it would have clashed with the Mountain Bike World Cup at Ft William so I couldn't have gone to WDW, if its 2007 I should be able to make it to WDW. That's probably not the case for the rest of you though, we'll need to find an alternative tour.

Need an alternative event to ride to.
 
We're off to Switzerland now instead anyway, so if it does the hokey-cokey at least we won't be too far away!

Shame about WDW being cancelled. I don't know how many from UP North were planning to go but how about organising a trip anyway ?. How about our own Ducati Up North Week instead ?. Ignoring the practicalities for a moment, how about a 5 or 6 day tour, starting at Ducati Glasgow (or Leeds) , round the W Highlands, along the N coast and back to finish at Knockhill and with a track day ?.

If there's no WDW then perhaps Ducati UK and the dealer network might support something like this as an alternative, even if it's just help with a van to follow the entourage and carry the luggage.

You can put me down for this provisionally. It will depend on what dates we could agree to and me being available but on face of it it should be fun.:D
 
Count me in, as long as it don't clash with the mountain bike event I have to go to at Ft William early June.
 
Gotta be worth a try mate ;)

Maybe we could look into hiring a van (as a contingency plan), and splitting the cost - then we just need to find a driver (maybe someone's other half?)

This looks a fab idea! I did scotland in 1990 on an RGS went up the east to the top along through Tongue and down the west side and in 1991 the other way up to Oban then to Ullapool (a quick run down to Gairloch and bacK which was a brilliant ride!) then on to Skye, then on to Harriss and Stornaway and back to the mainland along the top to Dunnet Head and back down the east coast home. we didn't book any where and just turned up at hotels & BB's and everyone made us really welcome! it was an excellent holiday we did about 1500 miles in a week each time. So if we have a van big enough to fit all the gear in and have room for a bike in the event of...........or maybe one of the riders could take a day off put the bike in the van, sort of take turns or is that too much to expect! Or if anyone knows someone who could drive the van who would like to go but their own bike is too poorly to go.......:errrr: :ohwell:
 
Well someone is going to have to come up with some dates! Are we going to make it a week long thing maybe starting out on Fri/sat and prefferably not in the rainy season, does Scotland have a dry month? Aug91 it p@@@@d it down in scotland when england was sunbathing in the 80's. We watched the weather forecast each evening and it went something like this........the whole of England Wales and Northern Ireland will have another hot day :fire: while further north there will be torrential rain :rain: for most of the day! If we can all make Oban for friday night then we can have a good night in that pub on the harbour front!:beer: :beer: :beer:
