I’d like to trundle around the Wicklow mountains and the South coast to the SW Corner, Kenmare looks like a good base.
Is there anything of interest to see North of Dublin up to Belfast? we would have done a full circuit then.

It’s a very sketchy plan that needs refining, but is anyone remotely up for it?

I might be - we (my bro and John) were discussing a Spain trip in May, but nothing's been agreed upon yet.

An alternative is the Highlands & Islands of Scotland? I could get a ferry to Cairnryan and we could amble around the western isles

The best time to do Scotland is before mid-may or after mid september, in between those times midges spoil it big time.

Five of us planning similar trip, first week in June, apparently it’s less wet then!

I don't mind doing a few days in Scotland; I can’t go before the 8th and will have to be back by the 14th of May. The price of accommodation is exorbitant and if we can find somewhere (preferably away from the NC500) reasonable we ought to grab it and stay in one or two places and do day trips.

As well as the NC500, theres something called the Crieff Cloverlaf, that might be worth considering or incorporating.

I got Simon Weirs’ “Bikers’Britain”, I’ll give that a coat of looking at and I’ll start another thread, with a slightly less pretentious title to gauge interest.
