I visited M&S Motorcycles (Durham/Newcastle) on Saturday, looking for anti-freeze for my bike. The guy at the counter pointed me towards a litre bottle of pre-mixed 'engine coolant'. When I asked him for neat anti-freeze which I could dilute myself, he said they didn't stock it.
My bike needs three litres of coolant. The litre bottle of pre-mixed he showed me was priced at £5.00 - meaning I'd need to spend £15.00 to completely refill my 888's cooling system.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but the correct concentration of anti-freeze to water is 35% - 65%. The pre-mixed 'engine coolant' he tried to sell me was presumably of a similar concentration. By my calculations, this means anyone buying this stuff is actually paying about £3.25 merely for two-thirds of a litre of water
Excuse my French, but what a load of B*llox!
