As it will soon be the hibernation seson, OK, what you up to this winter with the old ped? Mods planned, trips to organise, selling and buying?

I am going to try and T cut all the scratches off mine.......B&P shut the @@@@ up! May consider buying my old monster back and fettling that - he's ruining it! May also get a cheap shed for winter laning - XT500 or summat. Then I could just get the trials rod out and play on that.

You?

Pete, you might wanna try something like maguires paint restorer rather than t-cut. I've always found it to be a little harsh on body work specially if it is glossy like on fairings.
Personally, laying mine up with optimate and maybe using on odd sunny days.
Stripping down to basics and fettling any odd bits that need doing - hose clips, wiring connectors being cleaned/greased et cetera. But of tlc really.
Coating it in acf50 using a soaked rag and trundling round local roads where salters never seem to come.

Mate, don't use T-cut - very agressive. Get some 'Finesse' polishing compound, all reputable paint sprayers use it! :)

...well I'm gonna strip my new bike down, clean every single component until it gleams. then wack the thing in my lounge for the winter. It's yellow so the girls won't mind.

Imola, again strip thing down, clean up, rebuild and sit and stare at for most of the winter!!!! :) :o

No plans to make any serious mods on the 748 but I need to address the cooling problem with the Imola. Martin and I were discussing this and by the looks, I'm gonna get me a Multistrada cooler + lines and mount it under the seat as an addition to the existing Setrab unit. The way I hammer the bike on track, it's hardly surprising that it burns alot of oil, I loose piston-ring tension and the motor gets alot of 'blow-by'.

...getting fed up with having the pish ripped out of me for covering everyone elses bikes behind me with oil!!!! :o

Take bodywork off, clean, paint, restore etc anything that needs doing...paddock stands ,optimate...comfy seat in the garage and look at it periodically(sorry, still severly chuffed with my old chariot :dunno: :o )

I to am looking for an auld whatever for the winter, lot of overpriced tat going about just now tho..maybe once October comes prices will come down.

Strip down it down, Powder coating the frame and Yokes Black try and source Ohlins forks, Good old clean new bolts where needed etc, New body work. Then hopefully nail it back together with out any bits left over.

I'll be taking bodywork off Superlight, giving it a thorough clean and then put it back together again.

It's 15 years old now so I think it qualifies as a modern classic. I'm hoping to take it to the Ayr Classic show this year (second attempt, dropped it on the way this year).:o

My new year resolution is to give the Laverda some attention. I think everything is in place now so just need to get it all back together.:D

hopefully wont paint anymore of my bike until i get replacement bodywork :o although wet cold weekends and wine may get the better of me again :booze:

will do the belts at some point and a oil service and maybe the performance filters and a tune up.

And will hopefully ride it :)

Pete, forget polish mate, you need bodyfiller :finger:

ok so back to thread then....

I'll wash it and ride it.... and maybe - just maybe - fix the peg hangers and brake/clutch levers (well "fix" really means just paint)

and get a new chain too.... the poor monster will feel totally pampered after that lot:o :)
