A Z550 was my first big bike after passing my test. Cost me £500 and I got it from Grays in Essex, 1986.Only ever had one Kawasaki, it was my first proper big bike and road legal in 1988
It turned into a bit of a gifthorse when the Z550 got nicked as i had a crash on it, not my fault it was the usual no indicator gag, a prick drove into me as i was overtaking him, the bike went into the right wing and i some how went over the bonet, it twisted the forks in the yokes but didn't bend them but the bike hitting the deck had broke off a load cooling fins. So yes got a nice pay out and bought a SR500, fun fun fun that thing was!
