Vermeulen to replace Troy at Xerox Ducati??

It's being rumoured that Chris Vermeulen may leave Rizla Suzuki and replace Troy at Xerox Ducati. Evidently he hasn't done enough to automatically renew his Suzuki contract and Suzuki are re-negotiating at a much lower salary and rather than accept that Vermeulen is looking at moving back to WSB and replacing Troy

Ben Spies is also talking to Ducati but evidently his wage demands($2M) make it highly unlikely he'll go there.

The silly season is underway again :)

I was hoping they might be looking towards Shakey to replace Troy..........I'll ask Troy when I meet him!

Hmmmmm just my opinion but I really don't think Shakey is WSB material. Nothing he has done has really stood out as 'world beating'.

He's a good steady rider, but a potential WSB champion ?????

Just my opinion ;)

No one will know until he's given the opportunity !!!!.....

Mmmmm, don't know. Maybe Shakey didn't get the wildcard ride for fear of beating Baylis...now that wouldn't have looked good.

On the other hand they could have done a ferrari finish and gone over the line together...Baylis in front though

Vermeulen won't leave the motogp paddock lets be honest, another team will pick him up without a doubt, if Hayden goes to Ducati that leave Honda's No. 2 seat free so someone from a satellite team will no doubt shift there leaving a space for Chris if it came to that.

Shakey in WSB... it's a possibility but I doubt it'll be on a Xerox bike, at best on a Sterilgarda bike which will have vacant seats with Xaus off to BMW and I suspect Biaggi will end up replacing Troy

Dovi will pobably get the number 2 seat at Repsol Jon, evidently vermeulen has been offered half of what his current contract gives him hence the possible move back to WSB where he'll earn more, better to be a winner on a Xerox Ducati than an also ran in Moto GP ?

Shakey will end up in WSB if Airwaves go there, I can't se him getting a ride on any other factory spec bike as he hasn't done anything to warrant it, he's had opportunites at every level inc Moto GP and TBH if team mangers who've been around years don't see the potential its unlikely he's going to move on. When riders like Biaggi, Xaus, Checa struggle to win WSB races I can't see Shakey doing it week in week out which is what Xerox Ducati need ( and have in Bayliss)
