For some of you seasoned vansters, you will have experience of using your vans for track days, bike transportations etc.

What advice can you give to those thinking about a using a van this way, hooks, mounts, strappings, padding , mistakes made and lessons learned?
 
For cars, the national speed limit sign means a maximum speed of 60mph on single carriageway roads and 70mph on dual carriageways and motorways. For large vans (under 3500kg), the same sign imposes a limit of 50mph on a single carriageway, 60mph on a dual carriageway and 70mph on motorways. Car derived vans (if there is a car version of the van with a maximum laiden weight under 2040kg) these lower limits do not apply.

Ha true!

In terms of mods, a Chuck for the wheel is really useful and some kind of interior structure for sitting on is useful if the van is big enough. Not full on camper van, I built a box to start with that fitted where the bulkhead was (I removed it) which was a bench but also a storage box for my track stuff and camping cooking kit.

Some side rails for strapping to is useful too, so you can stand stuff up and strap rather than piling everything in. The more you do to organise stuff, the easier it is :)

Nice to know if there UK distribution for VanDoIt i'd like to go this route when i get a van

Look like quick release so I would think less than a minute - but just guessing. If at all possible find one with a tail gate!
 
Ah, cool. Wasn't going to look at that one, it was just to get an idea in seat removal. Should probably have read it rather than just looking at the pictures.

What do you mean by tailgate?

No double doors at the back - a lifting tailgate. Great weather protection if in the paddock with tailgate open and for family picnics if the wife asks :) (y)
 
IS anyone looking for a really nice T6 on a 2016 plate, just serviced 37K miles London/Slough.
Owner driver has just upgraded to a bigger van. No dinks, dents or scratches.
Very high spec - any interest?

I'd have it but a T6 is way too small for AirCon installation work.

the flip side is the inside of the van stays dry when opening the door in the rain.
If you get the back wet the whole van steams up.

On here he can, but you make your own mind up - you're not a daft lad so will go for a tailgate anyway - my mate who bought one has a bike repair business and as he's only 6 foot tall he doesn't bang his head loading bikes - but the 6' 8" honey monster is correct from his own experience :) (y)
