looking at my front tyre today i definately need a new one. i have always used bfm at shipley, they seem to be quite cheap and always have what i want in stock. does anyone know anywhere else that is quite local or are the ducati dealers reasonable in price ps i only use the michelin powers

don't want to look ungrateful for the offer but on a tight budget at the moment and back one is nearly new and hate fitting them myself as if i mark a wheel i have to hurt myself and not the shop owner

no probs, got them sitting here as spares for the 999 but I've hardly used it this year.

that should be a sin how can you own a 999 and not use it

Been riding with Linzi a lot on the multi strada or following her on her RS125 on the strada whilst she's learning to ride and the 999 only really gets used for scratching on Hartside, get up there as often as i can but its only a few miles from my house so even a good night with 3 or 4 runs up and down only puts 60 or 70 miles on it so its not like the tyres are wearing out even using Power race softs. I kept the new Pilot Powers in case we do a Scotland trip this year but its more than likely we'll do that on the multi so could do with swapping the 190 rear for a 180 55 to fit the multi.

fair enough i as you enjoy going out for a good thrash or with pauline on her r6. hope to meet you both tomorrow at whoop hall

yeah, i put 4500 miles on it last year, will probably only do 2000 or less this :( We should be there tomorrow provided I get back from work on time.

may be an old story but I heard BFM had a few probs, caused by using "old stock" tyres occasionally. Could be one reason why they can offer such good deals........rubber does degrade over time, even when not used. Condoms have a use by date too......... Serious suggestion, give National Tyres a try - OK they don't keep stock (couple of days needed) but I have had decent deals and service from them for three years now. They even do knobblies for 996's ;) . The Harrogate branch may be worth a call, tell them I sent you.

i heard that also so i always check the date stamp on the tyre and also that it is designed to be used in this country as if not you could be in all sorts of sh*t. never had a problem with them yet and i will give nat tyres a ring but i think i will stick with the smooth sort of tyres
