Got to change a tyre on the 999,nothing unusual in that except that i've got 6,000 miles out of a Michelin Pilot Power rear...:D :D :D
The mates i ride with are lucky to get half that mileage.Flinters only gets just over 2,000 on his 999,but he does alot of 2-up riding. What's everybody else getting on their Superbikes?

Can't decide wether i ride really smooth,or like a big girls blouse

Maybe i'm a tight Yorkshireman who likes to get his moneys worth :lol2:

soo not fair :(

theres no way im going to get that much out of mine :(

too much motorway rideing i guess

Hey Scotty,There's a fair bit of motorway riding on that tyre. Before Sue moved in I used to ride down to her house every weekend,That was a 300 mile round trip on the M1.

Not on a superbike but still a duke.

I have Avon AZARO's on my M600 and so far they have covered 7000 miles (mainlyn M/Way) due to my commutting! still got plenty left on them too.

Not a superbike but a 750ss, thats not fair to me its a super bike
When i had Bridgestone 014s between 4-4.5k but i did'nt like them much
then had Metzler M1s great tyre but 3.5k on 750ss when i do 1.5 to 2K each month it gets expensive, so have just put on Bridgestone 021 don't know about tyre life yet only done 500 miles but what a fantastic tyre i will never put a sports tyre on a bike again heats up quick great grip smoth ride what more do i want, oh yes high milage

Sorry everybody,Should have put Ducatis instead of superbikes...

As aircooled says they're all superbikes....

I bought a pair of Michein 2CT's before WDW. Had to have the front changed under warranty recall With all the foreign motorway riding two up with luggage the back squared off really badly, lasted only 3000 miles. I am going to change front and back for Avon Storm as I prefer Avon tyres. Just wanted to try Michelins to see if I was missing anything. I'm not, so back to Avon for my Multi.

on the 999 standard pilot powers did me 3000 miles and there was still life in them, i only took them off to get stickier tyres for scratching. i kept the pilot powers just in case i punctured, there was probably at least another 100 -1500 miles left. i'm now on power race soft/medium, done about 1400 miles and there is life in them but they are sliding a bit more than they used to so really i need to replace them.

on the multi i've used CT2's but as winston says they square off very quickly, i think its the more rear weight bias on a multi combined with more 2 up riding and carrying luggage. i think i got about 2500 miles out of my first rear maybe less on the second :( i never liked the standard scorpion syns so took them off after very early. If i keep the multi I'll fit Pilot Road 2'sand see how they last.

I've got a 749 with Dunlop Qualifier D209 and they have been ok. Had the tyre spin last week in the wet coming off a roundabout (bike was totally upright thank god!). Checked the tread and it's just over 2mm in the centre. So they have lasted 2,800 and I'm by no means anywhere near fast. I was going to replace them with Michelin Pilot Road 2 has anybody used these or does anybody have any thoughts on these tyres.

the Pilot Road 2 is more of a touring tyre which will last longer but won't have same grip as softer sports tyres. they are meant to be very good in the wet. I've got a set in the garage waiting to go on the multi, i don't think i'd run them on the 999, i was getting good mileage from Pilot Power's.

999R did 2500 miles on a Michelin Pilot Power Race suplied with the bike. The 1098 also managed 2500 on Pirelli Supercorsa supplied with the bike. Don't know what that says/means other than regular visits to the tyre shop.
